What a pathetic dig at FGW!, so i suppose that track circuit failures/points failures/trespassers on the line/snow etc etc are FGW's fault??? Mmmm FGW have come leaps an strides compared to a few years back but its easy to blame them than think about the real cause of delays hey!

Which new DMUs have dynamic braking?

Err that is not correct, big use is made of engine braking on diesel powered trucks, using exhaust brakes. a Diesel engine is a very high compression engine and as such is very good at 'engine braking', i've worked with and driven diesel driven trucks, mobile cranes, cars for over 25yrs. if you...

    Conductor vs Driver training

Tell your conductor mate to come to HEx and train as a driver, i can tell you now he won't even get thru the first assessment stage!. Also for the record we learn 2 types of traction (332 also 360/2's) both on very different types of service one express the other a tightly timed commuter...

    Different engine revs on 66/67

You also have to take into account the 3 different types of silencers involved. All 3 locomotive types (57/66/67) are fitted with essentially the same type of engine an EMD 2stroke V12 (66/67 slightly bigger bore and electronically controlled), The 66 will be the quietest type in having the...

Has Stobart rail moved to Rugby?

Hmmm! now that is not strictly true, it's more to do with capacity at DIRFT than cost! Unlike DBS knocking that goes on 'at any cost'!!

    Pocket or Plug?

Nope they have a system when they reach 25-30mph (don't know exact speed) that 'pushes' out the door into the seals so you get none of the banging when another train passes or when you enter tunnels (which is handy as there's a few!) having travelled on them it works very well, best of both worlds!
