This week a DRS class 66 has been working 05.55 ex York via Dewsbury and Huddersfield into platform 1 at Victoria, thence lays over for an hour or so at Brewery Junction loop.Returns via Victoria and same route as outward journey to York.Looks to be a route learner ..??Loco is fitted with cameras...
Looks like the return of the Binliner...66 worked down LE from Tees Yard in the usual morning path today..17 th Feb...heading for Knowsley.Interesting to see a Pathfinder Tours scheduled to visit the Knowsley terminal on the 11th March as part of a railtour.
07.48 Euston to Burnley Manchester Rd..out via Stoke to Stockport with electric haulage thence diesel via Todmorden curve..ecs to Blackburn .Return via Crewe for loco change...brings back memories of the League Liner with its disco coach??????
The Knowsley to Wilton binliner doesn't seem to be running at the moment ...nothing for a couple of weeks or so...pre Christmas there were often 2 trains a day...Anyone know what's (not)occurring.....??
Monday 12th December ...RTT shows light engine from Crewe to Weaste (arr 07.21/dep 08.30)...presumably to remove empty tanks which arrived 29/11 back to Tunstead.Hoping that they aren't now in some local scrap yard awaiting recycling??
This shows the set up..my(extremely limited)understanding is that the rail tanks are connected to the fixed pipe work on site allowing cement to be transferred into large storage shed from where road vehicles are loaded....??
Tunstead-Weaste ran today(29/11/16)..departed late at 13.11..Weaste at 15.29.Return left at 16.26 heading back to Earles sidings at Hope...not sure if this was empties or just LE.??
Anyone know if this is similar flow to the Tunstead-Brindleheath trains..??Presumably for domestic market and not...
RTT showing a new path for a Tunstead-Weaste working departing 03.58 arriving Weaste 06.04 with a load of 2200 t.No return empties programmed yet ..watch this space.
Interesting...same procedure as last sunday(7/8/16)...top'n'tail to allow easier reversals.Presumably there is a climb up from Guide Bridge to Castleton which needs both the locos ...years ago seem to remember a double headed 47 working on Sunday nights heading from Stanlow over the...
Thanks for the info ,Doug....RTT shows a stop at Tuebrook(19.01-19.06) then a further reversal at Guide Bridge..probably double headed through to Castleton goods loop where a loco was detached..seems an unusual procedure
RTT shows 18.24 departure from LBT across Chat Moss then via Piccadilly to Guide Bridge(reverse),Brewery Jn up to Castleton Goods loop where a loco looks to be detached and returned to LBT at 23.01,6e27 headed east at 22.45.
Wonder why this didn't run via Victoria...seems to be double headed...
Yesterday (27 th July) showed how vulnerable the Cumbrian Coast line is to a loco failure..when 409 expired north of Workington on the 14.35 ex Carlisle the following 2 southbound services were cancelled and the next service(17.37 ex Carlisle finished up 37 late at Barrow. This meant a gap at...
RTT shows a path on Friday 1st July for a 14.53 weaste-tunstead with 715 t trailing load..??
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
..something stirring on the Northfleet branch tonight(30 th June)...23.00 to Weaste left late at 23.15 and just gone thru Crayford...due Weaste at 08.42...
A good point..well made...although the Brindle Heath workings look to have a trailing load of 1600 tonnes compared to 2000 for the Knowsley train.
Attached shows the Wilton-Knowsley working approaching Walkden on Friday 16 th June
Realtime Trains yesterday(16 th June) shows a path for a 13.55 Weaste-Northfleet Lafarge...loading to 600 tonnes and routed via Patricroft and Winwick Jn.This was shown as a cancelled working but are there plans for a flow in future..?This looks to be a similar working to the Weaste-Oxwellmains...
Looks like the Tees Yard-Knowsley empty stock working is running today...left
Tees at 9.54... Just passed Church Fenton. This maybe first time this has run although I've been away for a week and could have missed it.
Looks like today's light engine again went through eccles on both inbound and outbound trips to Knowsley. The ''regular '' route has been via Altrincham but as yet no trips have appeared on the Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate via Walkden route despite there being a path for the 07.20...
