    Already been done on the tfw units but by all accounts its not much better than the cab cool system

    From what i know a fair amount of damage to 946, it will be repaired of cause and sent back out in due course,there are other units ready to come to Reading but are being held this may release another one onto depot sooner edited original post but facts are facts

    as far as i know the unit was not cleared beyond maidenhead but was sent to slough by xxx the unit clipped something on the way into slough(poss ballast) and on the road back towards maidenhead it hit something and removed all its shoes on one side causing quite alot of damage to the unit...

    The 7699s have a APS Unit instead of the MA the AC works off the APS not the traction supply

    No the units are quite capable at idle to power everthing they have on them But the heaters do lack a bit of oooph untill the Bus line comes up

    The compressor is powered from the MA set and is not tied into the Bus lines only the traction /Flex ties directly to the Bus The fans are inverter driven from the flex side on the engine rafts and have no mechanical coupling

    No engine braking or regen, engine revs drop with speed below 5mph to idle conditions above 5mph engine speeds increase to suit demand but have to have a raised "Traction idle" so that the engine power is avalible if the load onto the alternator increases which the system does not know untill...
