4021 required a rebuild of its front end in early 2019 but I dont know about the others. Could be just spares if they are indeed Metrocar front ends. Or the front ends from 4022...
Hello again everyone. I’ve had a look at photos and also asked around for what parts have been removed from Metrocar 4022 at Burton. So far the list is as follows:
Passenger Saloon Doors
Cab electronics (various)
Pantograph
Windows
Seat Covers
Tail and Front Lights
Metro In-Carriage Maps
CCTV...
Hello everyone. Having discussed the refurbishment program with some people, it would appear that 4001 will also have the same flooring work done to 4040/4002 (and 4083 when it’s eventually done, I think it’s currently in Depot receiving the work) however this will not affect the current paint...
Here is the full joint Nexus/DBTW report into 4022. I’ve had to redact some personal information out of the document, which is why this is delayed, but I hope this helps people.

Whilst I have full permission for photography and videography and know quite a few members of staff, I still sometimes get a staff member shouting their head off at me for filming/taking pictures, it’s once been taken to such a level that I was questioned for being at Palmersville Foot Crossing...
Hi everyone!
It has recently been announced that 4001 is to go into a new livery, replacing the drab grey livery DB gave it a few years ago.
Does that mean it’s going back into PTE cadmium, or is it a new livery specifically about 40 years of Metro?
thanks!
Whilst Metro may be facing a budget crisis, with 2 units (4075/4022) long out of use, it’s done alright for the age of the units. There may be peaks cancelled, there may be LRA, there may be a train failure, but it’s still serving the purpose it promised, “a quick way to the city” some 40 years...
I think 4022 might have been (if it even was) moved in order to make space at Bristol, but it still doesn’t explain why it went to Burton of all places.
