The Great Circular European Railway Challenge

The grade crossings over here in urban and/or heavy crossing areas are generally set in concrete, hence no need for the double rails. The more remote, rural crossings are for the most part just in-filled with gravel. This results in a broken suspension on your auto and jarring your teeth...

Scooter assures me he stands willing to pay his entire fare and incidentals all along the way in 100 Pound Scotish Bank Notes...assuming, arguendo, someone is willing to cash them for him. Glen?

The second clip is when they are pulling into a station. However, the first clip just seems to be flat, open road.

Glen: Your YoutTube includes sounds and images of the train-sound imitating harmonica. Tilos, Verboten, Forbidden by the Grand Poobah! Are those double rail tracks common in India? I can't recall ever seeing them.

Blenders and gimps? Are you making this up? And blinkers look stinko on any train...just gimp them out. What's wrong with the train in your picture? Just cut it out, slant it and belch some smoke out of it.

"Montgomery is well documented as a teetotaller." And that was probably the problem all along. Maybe if he had slammed down a couple with Winnie, the war would have ended sooner? I went to the NYC site...seems more than a bit tame and unambitious. I floated a suggestion for a rather more...

"...while the US was sitting out the first bit of WW2". As I recall the story, my father was sleeping in the mud with a rifle in north Africa while Monty sat in Cairo sipping his Pimm's Cup.

Glen: For all the cloven hooves from up north...a mustang is a wild horse. Welcome to the Wild West, and see you in 2015 on my turf. Coventry!?!? Isn't that where the British managed to burn down the great English Wheel, aluminum shaping (or as ONLY the British would say, aluminium) Jaguar...

Mark: I don't know this guy Dan, but I have flown on Bob's Air. The pilot wore a baseball cap that said "I'm Bob". He flew his Cessena B210 from Las Vegas to the Mustang Ranch. Imagine my disappointment upon arrival, only to discover there were no wild horses there!

Let's take a look at our history. Who do we trust? The Turks, Romanians or the Bulgarians? I think it's time to play Russsian Roulette.

The white of an Aran Isle cable knit sweater? The purity of a freshly carved dirk's bone handle? --- old post above --- --- new post below --- I think Bourdain had a falling out with Les Halles. Which is not to say it is not still great.

We have African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Native-Americans, Everything-Americans, but no Orange-Americans. Perhaps left-over D-Day parachutes soaked in harsh anilyn dyes and draped on the palour of a finely turned British leg could seem orange? --- old post above --- --- new post below ---...

The Italians get cheesed off at Portugal, Croatia, Spain and any other place that serves fresh, unpolluted sea food with a reasonably priced bottle of plonk.

Pingo doce should read "google it, THEN translate the page you find, scroll down the box on the left to take away." There you will find the ever tempting bowl of white rice with a couple of bits of duck sausage. This brings up the question about the techies on board. Can they find sites for all...

Clarification of a misquote: you saw Don say "I like English accents, except cockney and anything north of oxford". Actually it was something like, "I can tap dance my way through southern accents, but find Smithfield incomprehensible." I was once admitted (past armed guards) to a black tie...

We have devolved to a discussion on emoticons? Bedtime? I am the American Vampire...no sleep for this boy. Not a good thing to have on the train as when you awake to find your pork pies have been nicked, you won't know whether to blame the American or the Welshman.
