I used to get this when printing tickets at Basingstoke, certain terminals seemed to be able to produce tickets that worked fine for the NR barriers but not the TfL ones. I quickly learned which terminals not to use!
Accidentally caught 5Q40 going south today whilst I was parked up behind the Basingstoke Leisure Centre eating lunch. Couldn't get the number however. It seems I just missed 5Q51 going in the opposite direction by a couple of minutes.

Basingstoke - Waterloo, stopping services normally from P4 (but sometimes the incoming terminating service will be at P1 and then return), the fast services usually use P3.
