    i would imagine that given the trial operation of 47840 and the 325 units to bristol could pave the way for a regular bristaol mail service... only real problem with trying to operate such a service is lack of suibtable stok... all GBRf have are the 66's which are used for NR contracts...

    as far as im aware it was alstom who were not maintaining the caraiges... mainly due to the fact that with pendolinos due to enter service they considered it easier to stand down the stock and replace it with stock that had received maintenance sooner... that was less life expired.

    two things... 1# as re. the class 325 "Railnet" units... after the EWS operated services ceased the 325 were basically mothballed and stood down... with the ocasional run during talks with GBRf for training purposes they basically stood still. when GBRf took over the mail on rail services...
