its already been reported that movement is under their own power.
and reported as from midnight tonight till some point on wednesday
also my point regarding 47840 is that GBRf are a bit short of stock thats why they have 2x count them.. 1, 2... EWS class 66's on hire dure to LATE DELIVERY...
been reported they are going under their own power.
also given that they were supposed to be elivered last november originally and with 47840 OOS GBRf may be a bitt short of suibtable stock to drag them
but surely the point of having a pair of dedicated locomotives that they have specialy liveried and if memory serves certified for use at 100mph
if they just chop and change and destroy the uniformed appearance of the so called "executive" service
just been loking at www.sulzerpower and its showing that the blue pullman on saturday from euston is to be powered by one of the blue 47's and 47832
and on a nenta tour its the other blue 47....
why have they been split up for the past few weeks?
you think so...
so First should use the thameslink brand/name to cover the existing thameslink operations along with the additional great northern services that do not link the thames... so to speak...
they provie links into ondon but not accross the thames so would be stupid to brand the GN...
what route do GBRf use for their intermodal services...
i only ask as i have read several different articles all pointing towards gbrf operating the class 325 railnet units as unit only operation from sometime this or next month.
if this is so what use they will have for the 87's i do not...
does anyone know if the first class 322 has been released back to FSR or is about ready to be...
also has it been re-clasified into the class 321/5 cub class as was suggested in several of the rail magazines
yeah but was the welsh government dept not loooking at investing in the stock like METRO with northern do with the 321/9 and 158/9 units... dedicated units that they lease from like porterbrook but allow norther to operate specified services with...
i recently got chatting to an EWS driver on the First Scotrail Caledonian sleeper.. he was traveling in the dining car and i got chatting to him and somehow we got onto the topic of the Brunel 200 celebrations and 60081..
acording to him he heard from a collegue that EWS were considering...
i dont know how many people on here are subscribed to the railway herald but i am and i recieved the latest issue and it suggests that the services will be off pear top and tailed 10 car mk.3 rakes but will not be running till march
personal chice is GBRf with EWS in same place...
simply because these 2 appear to be making actual practical investment in current services ad inovative new ones...
ie. EWS making investment for line extensions for new contracts (Quinn Glass)
and GBRf for investing in additional hired *&'s...
do they all come off lease this summer ???
if they do i cant see First ust movin them away...
plus if i remember is it laira depot is suposed to be getting DMU facilites built.. perhaps this is just for the 165/166 units but could be a sign for the 180's.
anyway... you never know... maybe...
i was in the cab of the Virgin Pendolino at Railfest the other year... but it wasnt in the cab that was open...
i got chatting with one of Virgins drivers and an alstom fitter that was with the unit.. and they took me and a mate down to the other end.. (the end far away from the attractions)...
i was wondering if anyone could provide me with timings for any of the regular mail services to shieldmuir from willesdon and warrington
any and all help appreciated
i second that...
great news.. even if its just on the wolverhamton route... thats enough aint it.... they get to stay where be were built to work.. (the WCML)
