    NXEC plans to barrier stations

I agree. I have a season ticket between Brighton and Burgess Hill, and probably get checked once or twice a month (there are barriers at Brighton, but by increasing my 30 minute journey, including walking, to a 40 minute journey from Preston Park I could avoid them). My ticket costs...

    Class 180's to.....Northern?

From the point of view of a passenger boarding the train it makes sense, because it means it was always be in the same place regardless of which way the train is facing. You could of course also avoid that by having a smaller first class section at both ends of the train, but I'm comparing to...

    Merseyrail new rolling stock

Of course if they are considering new stock around 2015 timeframe, then the new thameslink wonder-trains will be in production, so they could consider a variant of those.

    NXEC plans to barrier stations

You can break at Brighton too - I know you can get through the gates there with an Eastbourne to Wyvelsfield ticket, which doesn't even have to go via Brighton. Does it depend on the station facilities? Both BTN and BRI (it should be BTM!) have station facilities outside the barriers (WH Smith...

    Cosining the Track

Just guessing here, but bearing in mind its a curve was he referring to the sine / cosine wave? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Waveforms.svg ). My not very good understanding after a quick search suggests he was maybe talking about making the curve and tension in the rails as even as...

    Queuebusters at railway stations

There are routinely staff with mobile ticket machines in the ticket hall at Brighton. I don't know why they don't just install more ticket machines though, that would surely be cheaper than employing these extra staff?

Repaint countdown for FCC, FGW and ATW

According to posts on the Thameslink yahoo group, all 319/4s have now been repainted, except: 319454, which is at Wolverton 319430 and 455 which are still in silver / blue. No other subclasses have been repainted recently.

Bonuses for failure at Network Rail?

No, actually that seems quite small. Going on the above figures, staff bonuses were less than 3.5% of PROFITS (not turnover), which sounds pretty low to me. The chief executive got a bonus of about 0.2% of profits - with a budget the size of Network Rail's the difference between a good chief...

Thameslink Programme, South Central & South Eastern area fleet cascades etc

Although not all in Southern livery! (I'm sure there is logic to it somehow..)

    Livery lists for LM,XC,EM,NX

Well they seemed to be doing slightly less than 1 per week, but I've not seen any changes mentioned here or on the junction in over a month, nor have I noticed any myself. Also, some have had the new vinyls but not the internal refresh - will these get the internal refresh in time, or are these...

Does anyone have any news on the FCC 319 refreshes? Not much seems to have happened recently from what I can tell online.
