Were we lied to about Privitisation?

I'm glad someone has finally raised the issue of privatisation, a topic that has never truly been discussed before at any point in the history of these forums. Further to the alarming questions promptly raised by the OP, I would like to add my own concerns, which have similarly never been...

    HS2 at Manchester

Three? Blimey, even more than I'd hoped! So that'd take Victoria to a very regal 9 platforms, lovely! :D The boom in through services is also excellent; it'll really liven the place up, and FTPE will give it a bit of sparkle that Northern sadly lack (assuming, of course, FTPE are even still...

    HS2 at Manchester

But that's well boring! Please can we have a brand new shiny HS2 terminus? Pleeease? We'll be really good, London, promise! I'd dearly love to a neo-Mayfield get top honours, but I'm resigned to it being a lost cause. I also love the idea of Victoria as a north-of-Manchester HS...

'Trouble on the line' BR Documentary

Well, if you think spending lots of money is the sign of a triumph, no wonder you're happy with privatisation. British Rail had its problems, and some people perhaps do think too highly of it, but you can't tell me that privatisation has been any better - if you were to push subsidies...

What a load of nonsense. I hope I've missed a huge dollop of sarcasm in there!

My train was about 1hor late yesterday - is there any way to see exactly how late?

Yeah, I only got back into the flat at 2200 yesterday and was absolutely exhausted. A fair point, though - I'll bear it in mind for future reference. I'm just going to put "approximately 1 hour" like you suggest - if they check things and see it was 55 minutes, then that's fine by me.

My train was about 1hor late yesterday - is there any way to see exactly how late?

Hey guys, first time poster here, but I've been lurking for a fair few months now. I've got a question to ask. Yesterday (Sunday the 13th of February 2011) I made a journey from Birmingham New Street to Bristol Temple Meads on a CrossCountry HST (I've never seen an XC HST before, I thought they...
