    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Just so you don't get a totally negative view, I was only in the pool for a few weeks before being offered a place on a course. It will all come down to business needs and the depots you've applied to.

    Is it worth it??

To be fair, where I am, 37 grand a year basic for mobile groundstaff with plenty of OT available, not to be sneezed at.

    Leaving the Police

Positive mental attitude mate, if you're lucky enough to get that far, apply yourself, show the right attitude, look listen, learn and don't be afraid to ask questions and you'll be fine. At that stage it's all up to you.

    GCSE's for train driving

I'm currently a trainee driver, and didn't have GCSE level A-C in maths or English and had to sit the functional skills level 2 in both. I did this whilst on my rules course with the train'd up people, so they are definitely enough to complete a level 3 apprenticeship. Not sure if train'd up...

Yeah hang in there mate, I know it can't be easy, but well worth it in the end.

    Trainee tram driver (Croydon)

When you failed the scatt test was it an online test for the mobile ground staff position? If so I doubt it will have any bearing on whatever assessments first group use for trainee tram drivers. Don't quote me on this but I'm sure the tram assessments are completely separate from anything to do...

    Train driver assessment day

That's what I did first time round, spent to long making sure they are plumbers, but that information is there to confuse you on purpose. They are all plumbers on that page or at least everything with a double symbol is a plumber.

    Train driver assessment day

I made a similar mistake first time round. However the first test sheet you do they ask you to look for plumbers. Ignore that and circle all double symbols. The second test sheet you do where you count the beeps at the same time they ask you to look for restaurants, ignore that and circle all...

    Train driver assessment day

Sorry to hear that mate, but just so you know for next time, they are all plumbers on that page so you only have to concentrate on the double symbols. The information regarding plumbers is irrelevant.

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Driving hours only count when the wheels are turning. You could have a 9 - 10 hour diagram and only do 3-4 hours driving. It all depends on what the job is.

There's currently a course in Reading at the moment.

    Enhanced Results

I think for the mobile ground staff position the online assessments are the only assessments. The next stage should be an interview, there shouldn't be any relation to the driver tests. This is a non driving role.

Am I cut out to be a Trainee Train Driver? Quickfire questions before researching career.

I personally think you answered your own question within your original post. Your negatives far outweigh your positives. Its probably not for you.

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

The opc conduct all the tests, stage 1 and stage 2. Freightliner need you to pass these tests to an enhanced level, I believe DBC only require national standard but I'm not certain on that. In short what will happen is you will attend the day regardless and they opc will tell you on the day...

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

To be honest mate, different managers will have different outlooks on how much is enough, but there's plenty of information on their website. That's all I used. As your interviewing for a depot that's going to be doing a lot of the mendip work maybe learn a bit about that as well.

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

It sounds like they are trying to get it all done in 1day, and they've asked you to prepare for a managers interview, so yes definitely expect to meet a manager and normally someone from HR. For me the mmi was quite intense, so learn your answers well and think of a couple of examples for all...

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Hello mate When I did my assessments with freightliner last August, they broke it down into 2 days, first stage is the paper and pencil tests, if you pass them you get invited to stage 2 which is the computer tests, the mmi and the managers interview. Does the email state how long to expect the...

Tips/advice/info regarding final line manager interview

By taking on board the feedback that I received . I realise that not everyone receives great feedback , but I was lucky enough to be interviewed by 2 mangers that emailed me directly on request , and told me where I'd fallen short . Plus after every rejection taking the time to research even...
