What is it with the seating in the lounge - those lean to’s are no good and there seems to me to be more of them than ‘normal’ seats - unless you buy an overpriced tea bag with lukewarm or scalding water from Costa - then you can sit on their seats

It’s not the best place to stay, but there is a good bar and lounge area and i’ve been to a few Christmas do’s there - it’s virtually unchanged inside, but great architecture!

I think they won’t be able to go any faster, and IC 125’s are the most comfortable journey on the network in my opinion. We would be replicating them in the modern age surely , so no further speed or comfort.

There has been at least one day this weekend where XC and VT were running Stoke to Manchester via crewe saw the poster in the station - May have been good Friday

Manchester - Stoke is definitely due to engineering works, VT and XC are running via crewe

It’s because the bus is still being funded by them and technically they operated the service for one day.

It officially closed sometime in December, the replacement bus still runs till we leave Europe but as far as infrastructure is concerned there is still a car park, it is a major junction and presumably the infrastructure to the junction has more cameras installed than the original station would...

I was being facetious and making a note that there is more than one train that stops here and Wedgwood and batlaston and making a point that this as well as the bus service means that a closed station receives a better service than an open station

Certain trains do stop by the platform similar to Wedgwood, they are both still getting a ‘Newhaven Marine’ type train service and the replacement bus is still running to norton bridge
