My idea for a 6 track hs2 line

Call me nieave or young or stupid but I think I have a great idea and I'm not quite sure why someone else hasn't apposed this instead of hs2 And before I start I'm aware I don't know fully about train speed and the advantages/disadvantages of high speed rail nor do I know fully about track...

    HS2 explained?

So the rest of the stations it's just going to join on the existing line? And now is this going to work? I'm beyond confused lol

Why not upgrade the WCML instead of HS2?

Will hs2 have short distance trains ie stopping at smaller stations like northern rail services do? Or will it be all long distance trains to the major cities because doesn't a train stopping at all stations slow down the train and therefore any train behind it? I always have this vision of a...

    HS2 explained?

Can somebody please explain a few things about HSs2 to me please? 1) is HS2 going to follow the same route (not side by side obviously) as the WCML as in going to the same cities or is it going to be going to different cities? If yes, then how is it going to work? Is every city it calls at...

Why not upgrade the WCML instead of HS2?

This is the thing I don't get their building this new line starting from scratch they could do whatever they wanted why don't they just spend a bit of extra money and design it to be 250mph like places like France etc? It seems so much more worth it to make it 250mph?

Why not upgrade the WCML instead of HS2?

The operating speed for hs2 isn't much more than the maximum 125mph on the wcml though is it?

Why not upgrade the WCML instead of HS2?

I've always wondered why instead of building hs2, why don't they just upgrade the wcml dramatically? Surely it would save money, save building a new line and destroying the landscape and also the wcml is a really good route reaching most of the major city's on the west side (crewe, Stoke...

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

That's gonna be iconic, the first day of the Virgin East Coast franchise and all trains are gonna be delayed, maybe they'll have the launch event a few days later?

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

True but staff wages aren't £10 an hour they're £8 at the most and then Virgin/Stagecoach should employ a team who's sole job is to deal with customer wuiries and decide weather they need a repose, what response or compensation and what type of compensation they need. Either way it's rediculious...

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

Yeah but if a customer is just complaining about something but they don't want a RTV but Virgin give them one then they must be losing so much money? My email wasn't even a complaint it was just a general enquire about something so if they send me a RTV I'll be both happy because I get £20 off...

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

Really? So they don't bother reading enquires that much they just assume and give out £20 RTV haha?

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

Why did that guy say they wanted my address to send me a RTV then? I don't need compensation haha I haven't even been on a train since before Christmas I'm making an enquire about something simple

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

Yeah some companies do this I think London midland do, but I'm almost sure Virgin don't I got rejected from 2 and got placed through to the next stage for one recently but there wasn't enough spaces at the roadshow careers event they had so they said my application would stay on file for the...

Virgin Trains East Coast launch day

I contacted them and explained how I'm a young enthusiast and how this would be my first time in London, I also worded it very well and mentioned Sir Richard lol. They emailed back asking for my postal address in order for them to send me a response, is this a good sign? Surely it was just a...

    Stagecoach and Virgin Trains

I was just wondering why is virgin trains west coast franchise made up of 49% Virgin rail group and 51% stagecoach? Don't a massive global brand such as Virgin have enough money to buy out stagecoaches steak? And why do they even need stagecoach? They know how to run trains and airplanes...

Will Virgin bid on the west coast?

So most people think they will? I once had someone on here saying they probably won't bid again I can't remember the reason why they thought that. I thought with them having a bit of the ecml they wouldn't bother with the wcml anymore?

Will Virgin bid on the west coast?

After what happened in 2012 when the franchise is up for grabs in 2017 do you think Virgin will bid again? Now Virgin partly own the east coast main line as well so they will be making a profit there? I personally think Virgin are a great TOC and have transformed the wcml, I can't imagine...
