Ah Thanks for the input! I might have a look at the signals and see if they are red at NM when trains approach. I wasnt sure if they are or not. I guess it must have been yellow or something otherwise as you say, the train should have stopped.

I was on a SWT from Bmouth to London and wanted to get off at New Milton.. but the driver forgot to stop and went past at zooming pace. I wonder about the signal.. surely the signal would have been red ? What happens when drivers go through red signals? How does things like "junctions"...

I'm sure each driver will respond differently to the fatality. Got to feel bad for those that take it really badly though. :sad: I'm glad there's lots of support in place- there certainly needs to be. I didnt realise there were so many fatalities going on since Ive started regularly...

Apparently there is a possibility of suicide or the latest incident might of been due to a man falling from a nearby bridge.# What happens to a driver when that encounter a fatal? Do they get all the help they need from the company?

Ive always found 1497 to be much louder than 1498. Often there is a lot of rattling in 1497. Also, 1497 looks more "worn" than 1498 does in terms of paintwork and appearance.

How long is this 450 going to be on the line before 1497 comes to the rescue? I presume 1498 is off for refurb?
