“Anytime Advance” (new ticket type created by West Midlands Trains)

Does anyone know what the refund rules are intended to be for these tickets? National Rail Enquiries - Ticket terms & conditions - C19 just says "Refunds - Yes". This is far less information than it provides for other advance or walk-up ticket types.

Advance ticket non-refundable: can I change to Anytime, then get a refund?

When issuing a refund, the ticket seller is required to check against any earlier related tickets and the refund calculation should be based on the rules for these ticket types. I.e. the any time ticket would be treated as if it were an advance for refund purposes and in normal circumstances...

TOC plans regarding advance tickets if destinations become no-go (Coronavirus)?

The actual wording is slightly more ambiguous. I don't disagree with your interpretation of the last sentence as "after 07:00" today. A more customer friendly (and presumably unintended) interpretation would be that if the customer chose not to travel, the refund is therefore being applied for...

TrainSplit TOD - advice needed please

I'm afraid this is not necessarily the case. Trainsplit confirmation emails make it clear whether tickets are available for any card collection or if the payment card is required.

TOC plans regarding advance tickets if destinations become no-go (Coronavirus)?

That form should only be used by customers who have already collected their tickets from a machine. The main refund page is at https://refunds.trainsplit.com/. This page allows automated refunds of e-tickets and uncollected TOD tickets where eligible.

TOC plans regarding advance tickets if destinations become no-go (Coronavirus)?

If the paper tickets haven't been collected there is no need to collect and post them.

TOC plans regarding advance tickets if destinations become no-go (Coronavirus)?

That LNER page doesn't make it clear whether advance tickets are now refundable.

Stratford to Colchester Super Off Peak Return validity

According to brfares, the Stratford to Colchester Super Off Peak Return carries a D4 restriction and for Monday to Friday has the wording: "Not valid on trains timed to depart: London Liverpool Street after 04:29 and before 12:00 or after 15:58 and before 19:02; Stratford (London) after 04:29...

Unable to reserve seats with certain fare types

I believe the fare type restrictions go beyond just services. Certain carriages or even specific seats can only be reserved by certain fare types.

West Yorkshire Day Rover Changes from 22nd July.

Presumably that was old stock. I bought several scratch off tickets a few months back and they are "Day Saver".

How early do you need to arrive at a station where there are level crossings

Stations have defined minimum connection times. Could the industry expand on this idea a little and define minimum departure allowance times to account for things like crossing platforms by level crossing, changing platform for TVM, average TVM wait time etc.?

I would hope it would be possible to set a watchdog process to automatically reboot any machine that gets stuck!

    Northern Ticket Machine Update Issues

This was the TVM at Mytholmroyd, Leeds bound platform at 0940 this morning. Either the clock is wrong or its been stuck for a day and a half! The attached image shows the TVM stuck on the payments screen and showing a time of 18:55 22-Oct-2019.

    NRE journey planner DST bug

If the data doesn't specify BST/GMT, is there a documented convention that the offset doesn't change for timings within a single train record? Even so, timings for trains that start between 0100BST and 0159GMT would be ambiguous.

    Northern Ticket Machine Update Issues

If Northern truly believe that the changes made are an improvement and that they don't significantly increase interaction times they should give a commitment of the maximum amount of time a passenger is expected to queue for TVMs before giving a right to buy on the train.
