You've also got the ability again to cross slow to fast in the tunnels again. That was causing some problems when the trains were using the Lord Nelson side pre-blockade but headed for Mossley Hill. Edge Hill crossovers were extremely slow .
Simplest thing they could do is stop the conflicts with Merseyrail crossing over at Hunts Cross. At least then the CLC trains s could then have a better approach upto Allerton. Still needs serious money but it seems an obvious quick win.
The major problem is Allerton Jn. Its still a major bottleneck and will continue to cause trouble until it's radically altered there. Lime St still has one platform to come back in yet so it will still get better in there in time. However you'll always have the conflict of moves across flat...
Yeah, the services I use are all at the Top end of the franchise, not used an ex-silverlink service for years. The staff at Crewe in particular, are a good bunch.
I'd argue that with LNR. I travel pass on their trains regularly and they usually always walk through. Have to say though that their new uniform is awful, I bet some people think they're just another passenger walking through.
?? 002 came out last week and 107 went in. Check realtimetrains for the moves between Widnes and Edge Hill where you'll find one went in and one went out.
Some of them have trees growing out of them, so I'd question their usage stats to be honest. Likewise, the solar panel farm doesn't really need to use them either seeing as the creatures don't really moo-ve.
We can use platforms 6, 9 and 10. Even 11 cars can go in 9 (the old 8) it just fits and was done before the current blockade. Must admit that it didn't look like it would fit an 11 but it fits snugly.
When 1 and 2 fully open, we will be able to take 9 cars down there into 2 only.
You have got to be kidding. It'd be on and off that often, you'd have an epileptic fit looking at the linelight. Half of the bridges should be flattened without too much disruption anyway as they for farm use.
All hypothetical but I was thinking a there and then swap over of units, purely for the crowd busting that is sorely needed on a number of the services, plenty of horrified faces can be seen at various stations if the NW-Manchester turns up with a 2 car. As for power, they wipe the floor with...
The speeds are still broadly the same for non freight trains. (Those've been lowered to 15mph). It's just the 15mph only starts for trains now right at the entrance to the platforms, whereas before, it was just after the old final signals. It's 39mph dropping in as before and a short 25mph...
Speaking from my TOC's point of view .Left on time, arrived on time. I do apologise for not knowing how northern, LNWR or TPE got on. Has any of that been purely down to Lime St or other factors?
Time and a place for this old chestnut, even I don't think there's a North vs South issue here. Plus if GWR are meant to be using them in the Home Counties, then it's even more baffling it's not been picked up on. Maybe the RMT should put out a missive about them, shoehorn some issue into it...
