Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

I think it's natural to come out thinking like that. I'm sat here thinking the same, and wondering when I can apply again as I'm not confident I said enough in the dmi. There are mainly competency based questions. Similar to the MMI. Bit about yourself to start with, general getting to know...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

That's good to know it wasn't just mine then. The two managers were brilliant mind. One of them had been a special for 8 years, so half my time there was spent with him asking if I knew all different officers lol.

    Northern interviews

Thing is you can be an external candidate with great attendance, attitude and behaviour. Really the internal candidate has a slight advantage of being able to talk directly to those in the job they are applying for. But just because you are internal doesn't mean you are better than someone...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

Evening all. Hope everyone is well. Just wondering regarding DMIs whether others were ridiculously relaxed. As it was a final interview I was expecting a grilling, but it was very relaxed and quite a few jokes and laughs about life etc. Not sure that's a good sign :S

    Assessment Day Help

Do all TOCs do the marking score. I assume it was a pass fail sort of approach. So if you DMI was say half decent I thought you would just fail regardless if you did well on the previous.

    Assessment Day Help

Not if you hold them in place where you currently are. So you move right stick up and down. Left stick left and right. Say you are going down the diagonal you can pause and aslong as you keep the sticks in the position they are in the ball stays the same place so you can have a breather...

    Assessment Day Help

The bourdon test is over several pages, you unfold a booklet, and 1 is on its own, 2 and 3 and on the next page and 4 and 5 on the last page. I found it much easier doing it on paper I had only practiced using the computer one you find via google. Keep doing them, as you brain learns the...

    Job security when takeovers happen

Hi all. I have my DMI Friday and with luck be in the talent pool soon. Just been thinking about job security. I'm a Police officer at the moment, so pretty secure. When companies take over, ie arriva to TFW, do all drivers stay on, or do you reapply, and do drivers lose jobs.

    Trainee train driver practice resource

It is down to how you feel in doing tasks without practice. Personally I felt if I practiced material too much it would put me off for the actual tests, as I may expect something different. I went in blind apart from the matetial the toc gave me and I passed it all. Have dmi Friday. But as...

    2 Hand Coordination Test

Best thing to practice is how you are going to do the corners and diagonal. You can either move both controls for a smooth diagonal movement. Or you can do it separately, so down a little left a little etc. I found the first the easiest. On your practice run you get play about with the...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

Keep practising the bourdon. Do it several times throughout the day. It's crazy how quick you learn to see the 4 dots and eliminate the rest. The tones test is pretty simple. In a nut shell you count, the last few have a higher amount so keep concentrating as I lost count on one thinking it'll...
