I see, I feel more enlightend on the subject already! I used the term 'Train Host' as that's what it said on their badge. To be fair to XC that was the only train out of the 8 I travelled on over the two days to check my ticket! Didn't even have to go through any ticket barriers anywhere either.
Fair enough. I'm not trying to get him sacked or anything. There is a time and a place though to be honest. Also I'm new to this forum so don't want to fall out with everyone yet! I can't really articulate what I want to say about this. Like I said I'm mostly just wondering what other people...
I'm certain it was his personal phone from things he was talking about. I've never really complained about anything before but I was just suprised at the behaviour. Surely even if you were having personal problems then your wife/girlfriend etc... should still know not to call you at work. I can...
They said it was quite an informal interview, more of a chat to get to know you. Although they said they might ask you to give an example of when you have organised something, for instance. Look at the main aims of the scheme/Network Rail and try and think when you have done similar.
A couple of days ago when I was on a CrossCountry train the 'Train Host' was using his personal mobile phone. This isn't the main issue, I'm not sure what the company policy is. The host was was having an argument over the phone, I presume with his girlfriend, and complaining about working. He...
Here's a part of the email telling you what you need to take,
There is also a smart dress code, no trainers or denim.
My assessment day is this Friday but is in Coventry, so unfortunatley I can't help with the time and place. Although my assessment day is at 0830 for a 0900 start and...

The Jam (Without Paul Weller)
Paul Weller
Madness (twice in the same day)
British Sea Power
The Bad Shepherds (Adrian Edmondson's band)
Spandau Ballet
Elvis Costello
and obviously the odd support acts and...
Got some random questions... what was the group exercise? about how many people were there? Were many people wearing a tie? I can't decide if I should wear one or just an open collar! Cheers.
Good luck, hope it goes well. You'll be able to report back to us!

Just google verbal and numerical reasoning tests, there's loads online. The ones on the link are just the same as any others, I presume that SHL are just whom Network Rail are using...
Someone needs to be chosen. Think of it this way, it might make it seem a little less daunting. There are 8000 applicants for the scheme overall. You have applied to work at a certain depot. Depot A may have 25 applicants where as Depot B might have 100 applicants. Just hope yours is more like...
I know, it seems like that for every job at the moment though. Your assessment day is quite early so you should be able to give the rest of us some up to date advice after
I'm also thinking signalling, maybe track...
I'm going by train but the earliest train from where I live doesn't get to Tile Hill, nearest station to Westood, until 0917 and we need to be there for 0830! So I'm staying in a B&B which is literally just down the road, which is good really, as I won't have to get up too early, and I'll feel a...
