    Random Dreams or Nightmares

Yes, like that but the more I try to move the more I can't. It feels like someone is holding you down. I can't even speak when it happens. There is a terrible feeling of fear that goes with it, even though I know what it is now. I sometimes see things that aren't there too. Luckily it only lasts...

I too have heard that about exam certificates becoming obselete. If you look at adverts for jobs the majority are more interested in experience, as opposed to GCSE grades, anyway. Makes sense though really, they'll probably change the exam system at some point and GCSEs will be old hat.

    Driver misses station

When I was waiting at Bedford station, last year, a train that was supposed to stop didn't. It just slowed down as though it was going to stop and then sped up and went. They said it was a 'technical fault'.

It's about 40 miles from my house to Westwood, so it wouldn't have been too bad. Like I said in an earlier post, I stayed in a B&B down the road for the assessment day as I came by train and even if I got the first train in the morning I wouldn't have got to Westwood until about 09.15. I'd never...

I live in Market Harborough, it's about 15 miles south of Leicester. I see you are from Great Barr, wouldn't that be quite a commute to Rugby everyday? That's a long way to go, hope you pass!

Ahh yes, I know who you are now. I think you also had a red jacket and were sitting on the front row during the job info talk? I didn't get to speak to you, although I couldn't help but over hear! lol. I've applied for Leicester

For some reason I think the interviews are at the depot where you have applied to work. Ahh right, it's just that my group did the exams in that order too and I know some groups did them the other way round. Are you the girl that was on about pulling boys ties and pendolinos?

I think you may have been in my group desirokma. Group K? For the fault finding exam I was using this to practice (I'll share it now i've passed!). http://www.psychometric-success.com/practice-papers/Psychometric%20Success%20Fault%20Diagnosis%20-%20Practice%20Test%201.pdf The...

    Please help me!

If you know the area where your sister might live you could try putting an advert in the local paper. You could also put a notice in a railway newspaper/magazine with your fathers name. If you know your sisters name try typing it in on google, a long shot perhaps but you never know what could...

    Macclesfield line closed!

There's one of those in Kettering for the bridge near the station, I used to pass it on the school bus, not sure if it's still there though. On BBC Travel News it says there are 45min delays between Westbury and Bath Spa due to a vehicle hitting a bridge.

I think it was 8000 who pre-registered to apply and 10000 who applied in total. Anyway we've done well to get this far whatever the figures!

I'm sure they said 800 at my assessment and kelsey has quoted the same figure in one of her posts. If it is 400 then thats even better!

I do that too, it's such a nice sound and it helps the train leave on time!:)

    Beginning a career

You could always wait until next year and apply for the NR apprenticeship again, at least you will know what to expect next time and can prepare a bit better.

    Stupid things

If ever I'm on a HST I always go and wait by the door early when it's getting towards the station so I get to open it! Sad I know

    Network Rail Apprenticeships

Well done everyone. Just hope I don't fall at the last hurdle. In regard to how positive it is getting this far... This is very rough by the way. Let's say there were 120 people at Coventry (about right?). There are 800 people getting to the interview stage out of the 1400, so thats a...

    Stupid things

Last week I was waiting for a train and it was a HST that pulled in. There were two other passangers in front of me waiting to board. I saw the light come on and heard the doors unlock and the two other passangers just stood there staring at the door. I stepped forward and opened the door. By...

Thank you. I'm hoping to do signalling and track is my second choice. I didn't hear them mention anything about two interviews at my assessment day.
