Which TOCs accept the DB Schenker private driver assesment?

Absolutely spot on mate! Another thing that people have forgotten is that toc’s Are increasingly heading towards “enhanced passes” when it comes to psychometric testing...... I’m sure that won’t be an issue to the OP but worse case scenario he/she could shell out all that money and still...

Which TOCs accept the DB Schenker private driver assesment?

“If you can demonstrate the skills required and show your suitability better than the thousands of other applicants then don't bother with the tests keep fine tuning your application and maybe knock on a few doors and do a bit of brown nosing and you'll be just fine” Isn’t the first bit of that...

Which TOCs accept the DB Schenker private driver assesment?

Definitely mate! If you’ve money to burn and aren’t really bothered about a potential Toc making you take their tests anyway I’d say go for it!.... as you say it shows drive etc.... but I think if people look at something like this as a defining factor in getting through sifts etc they’re...

Which TOCs accept the DB Schenker private driver assesment?

I’m not sure what driver managers you have but the driver managers I’ve encountered in my career have always been welcoming of someone who thinks outside of the box. I actually never said that they’d have anything to do with the initial shortlisting.... I meant they certainly have hints and...

Which TOCs accept the DB Schenker private driver assesment?

Me personally...... I wouldn’t bother...... if your application is good enough you’ll get through to a Toc’s testing anyway and save yourself a few quid. Remember you’re up against some stiff opposition due to the numbers and people will have just as much if not more suitable qualifications...

    Qualified driver, Virgin.

You will not be offered an interview date with Virgin until they are in possession of your signed off (by your current manager’s) transfer of safety critical information form, so your current gaffers will know that you’ve applied. And it’s you that has to take the form to your current...

    Route to trainee driver?

I personally think it’s the very best route into driving and it’s a very well trodden path! Yes you’ll have to apply like joe bloggs off the street and every other Tom dick and Harry but you’ll certainly have an advantage in certain parts of the process. I don’t agree with the above that it...

Have I been gypped by the TOC/OPC?

Famous last words!......social media has been the downfall of many......I don’t share your confidence.

Have I been gypped by the TOC/OPC?

Hiya mate Sounds like you had a tough day. I think if you for example were the only one to not receive the tests you may have had a case but given that no one did may harm any appeal you choose to make. It sounds like it’s one of them intentionally not sending them out to everyone or simply a...

Have I been gypped by the TOC/OPC?

Personally I think you’d be fighting a losing battle with a complaint.Only because there’s nothing to say they have to give you practice material in the first place. A lot of industries only give potential applicants a brief outline of the tests they’re likely to take and not the vast detail...

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

But doing that won’t actually deprive them of “78 quality drivers”! They’ll just get 78 from elsewhere for the exact reason you said earlier in your post lol......if anything it’d make their job easier. As harsh as Toc’s May treat us as applicants we can be just at fickle through our desire to...

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

Agree with bits of that but I certainly don’t think it’d be a case of not getting enough suitable applicants! I’m sure from the tonnes that applied and were offered positions it wasn’t a case of that. May be an idea to define “minor” too..... what’s minor to you may be different to them. Don’t...

    Virgin Trains Recruitment

Oh yes then totally!....... it’s fine margins where small things can make big differences when it comes to getting a job on the railway isn’t it, so adding a covering letter if the facility allows Is almost crucial. I’d imagine that they’d definitely want one if there is the facility to attach...

    Virgin Trains Recruitment

I had to do that when I applied.....it’s just the way they do it.

    Virgin Trains Recruitment

You’d be surprised what Toc’s will use to whittle down numbers In a recruitment campaign..... not following instructions is certainly one of them. Most toc’s Who don’t require a covering letter wouldn’t provide the facility to attach one anyway..... like I say...... keep it simple, do as you’re...

    Virgin Trains Recruitment

Best way is to simply do as you’re asked and not complicate things really. If it asks for a covering letter do one if it doesn’t then don’t.

SPADs and the prospect of being easily sacked.

Shove stats and statistics up the proverbial hoop!..... if you go out there with a healthy nervousness/respect for the job you are doing mixed with a little common sense you won’t have a problem! If you’re the sort that sits there almost like you’re on a sun lounger with your foot over the AWS...
