185s are awful. Your segregated in your own little compartment with nothing but flip down seats. Not great for a w/c user if they’re travelling with someone else.
Are there only three luggage racks in the whole train? The seat plan on the site is awful but it looks like there is only 1 per coach, and none in the driving cabs. Think they’re gonna run into problems with that. LNER had to take out seats to add more luggage space.
How would this work when you have say 10 passengers with assistance on one train? Just delay the train until every passenger has been introduced to the guard?
Passenger Assistance is not a babysitting service. To have a proper system the assistance should almost be invisible. It should be no effort for the person needing the help. And the staff certainly should not be “handing off” someone, they’re human not some object.
I suffer from headaches almost every day and migraines. I try and avoid travelling when it’s dark out because of how bright train interior lights are. It’s horrid. They don’t need to be that bright. Worst offender for me was the seated coach in the sleeper, there was a light shining down from...
When I fly from Edinburgh I only have a small hand luggage case and always walk from the Park and Ride. Once you’re out the car park and ride there is a path down the road to the airport. Doesn’t take long. There isn’t a path out the park and ride but I always just go for it anyway.
I don’t get the outrage. They don’t seem to have a problem with planes being fully occupied. Also ScotRail has made no effort to enforce any form of social distancing at all.
Noticed some qr code readers at the 13/18 gates at Edinburgh Waverley.
It’s a shame they’re not e-tickets, far superior to m tickets. You can put them in apple wallet/google (whatever it is), and print them off.
Exactly. Emissions need to go down, but even if the Uk done everything it doesn’t compare to those countries. Shipping should be targeted. Cargo ships are massive polluters due to using the worst fuel, but not a lot is said about them. Anyway, bit off topic.
Makes more sense (to me) to have the ABD/INV services stopping at more stations down the route. Gives people more options for direct journeys to the north of Scotland.
I’ll be happy to see the back of them, but wear them when required. But anyway, they are pointless as soon as you take them off, so If people take them off for a drink/something to eat then what’s the point in wearing them at all? I just don’t get it.
Current arrangement is fine. There is plenty people who want it all, but that’s not going to happen.
I love the free travel I get and 75% off is really damn good.
It would be nice for the priv seasons tickets to offer a little flexibility, they seem to more aimed at 9-5 railway workers. For...
Okay, so go to Russia without a visa then, see how far you get on. I want this lockdown to end, I’m sick of this. I don’t want people to be restricted with what they can do in this country, but what say do I have in other countries? None.

Oh believe me I have too much experience with...
This. Exactly this. Do people think that just because restrictions end here they can do travel wherever they want? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. No one has the right to travel, any country can set whatever entry requirements they please for people that aren’t citizens. I don’t get...
So by that logic, why should I need a visa for any country? I don’t get why so many British people think they have any say on what other countries set as their entry requirements.
How? So you’d rather people paid minimum wage and screwed over by companies by out sourcing rather than paid a good wage for a job that needs to be done? Minimum wage shouldn’t be paid just cause it can.
Going to be honest, sounds really interesting. Sort of job I would love to do. But as other have said, salaries are not that great. I have all the requirements, but would be a pay cut, not just for me but I imagine for many railway employees.
