I'm going to try and learn the bell codes before signaller school. Wise move? If so, what is the best way you have found to learn them?

Haha I had the same from HR. I rang my new LOM to check, he confirmed my start date, I emailed HR, they then emailed my LOM to tell him!

Gotcha! Yep, absolute block for 11 weeks at York, then a week at Westwood for TCB. Interesting reading the posts re Sun rate for travelling, are you getting it? Where in Lincs will you be covering?

Thank you for the further insight. I'm due to start at York on 4 Nov and have pretty much prepared myself and my family as you have suggested. I took a two week residential course last year for a forklift instructor qualification and everything went on hold for the revision required. I guess...

I'm scheduled to start at end of Nov and then signaller school on 2 Dec. I've had my contract and offer letter both stating the old grade 2 rate 27,705 after training. I don't normally assume anything, but on this occasion I will, and assume I'll be on the new rate, although I will check nearer...

I applied for Ancaster box and wasn't successful, to later find out that a signaller from another box would be taking the vacancy, so keep your chin up!
