    Train Driver Psychometric Assessment review

Interesting. I wonder if this will lead to more companies bringing the testing in-house like I know DB Cargo do.

    GBRF interview turn around time

I've not been contacted by phone, it's all been email-based for me. I've accepted an offer elsewhere anyway ;) Good luck with your role, I hear Peak Forest work is booming so I'm sure you'll stay busy.

    GBRF interview turn around time

They were looking at a mid feb start date IIRC but it was a while ago so plans can change. I just find it odd that I've not heard from them since.

    TOC/FOC Notice Period

Thanks for all your responses, I only asked because I'm currently in a non-rail role where I only have to give 1 week's notice, so it was a bit disconcerting when I initially read it. I totally understand the reasons for it.

    TOC/FOC Notice Period

Hi folks, I've had a search around the forum but haven't found much info on this subject. For drivers and/or other safety critical workers at TOCs and FOCs, what is your contracted notice period? I've been sent a contract and if I wanted to leave (I don't) I have to give 4 months notice. Is this...

TPE Trainee Train Drivers - Manchester & York (21/09/21)

24 hours notice of an interview is a bit rough! Sorry you didn't get through this time. As others have said you're in a much stronger position now you have the test passes under your belt. I hope you got some good feedback?

TPE Trainee Train Drivers - Manchester & York (21/09/21)

Seems I've got a DMI being lined up. Anyone else from this round of recruitment at this stage too?

    MMI

For my MMI, the interviewer read out the question, then said "I've got down here that you..xyz."., and then said "could you tell me more about this in detail please" or words to that effect. As Shunted has said above, don't be too worried about trying to remember the example you gave. If you...

I haven't applied to this, but I've interviewed for GBRf in the past.

GBRF Trainee Train Driver - London

It'll be a competancy-based interview, so yes, similar questions about your experience of handling different situations. Use the STAR method again. They will also likely ask what you know about the company. Do some research, look through their website. Learn their core values etc.

    Psychometrics Query

As I understand it, if you've completed those components, you wouldn't need to resit them providing you reached the required standard. Worth noting though that there is an expiry date on your passes so you might have to resit them if they have lapsed by the time you apply for a driving role.

I think I interviewed for the same position, early 2020 was it? Didn't hear back afterwards.

    Cbi/mmi written part

I used bullet points IIRC to keep the answers short and to the point.
