Stage 2 done. All three of us present thought we had struggled on the Vienna test system but we all got through to the criteria based interview. Now the waiting game again...
Hi Villafan, yes I was there. Thought it went quite well, although I had sat the dots, glop & dials before. In a strange way I enjoyed the Tee-Occ and DFFT.
Ten working days they said, see how that goes!
I've made it past the interview too :-)
I took the tests two years ago (dots, glop & dials one day, reactions & criteria based interview another) and after my interview the other day I asked as to whether I would go straight to medical - the interviewers said they hoped that would be the case...
I've had worse. More self induced pressure than anything I suppose, but that is natural considering the importance of the situation. Just got to sit and wait now...
Sorry for lurking but I thought I should keep quiet just for my own sanity more than anything.
Not long had my interview. Glad that's all done! Good luck all, hope to see you in the new year at the training centre.
**Humour alert**
DMs turn down perfectly capable candidates for pedantic reasons.
**End of satirical observation**
Bitter & twisted as I failed my DM interview with FGW? Surprisingly not. One door closes, another opens and all that.
Sadly Barry this would probably be the case, I guess that at the application stage train companies would be fairly inundated with applications and it would take ages to send a courtesy "Sorry, not this time" email, even if they did use some sort of mass email system.
Still doesn't make it...
Welcome TFEMark, welcome to the forum and welcome to the long road that is trainee train driver application!
This place is packed with good info, any questions that you may have will almost certainly be answered in here somewhere.
Oh, and good luck!
In my experience, they gave them a cursory check at assessment 1 then took photocopies at the end of DM interview. I don't think I needed them at stage 2 (although I did take them, best be safe than sorry etc).
Don't worry, if they want something they'll let you know. They can be quick when...
After six weeks and six days waiting to hear the result of my DM interview.....
I'm out. Bummer. :(
Best of luck to all of those in the system.
On the plus side, I've been told that I will receive the feedback from my failed interview, that will come in handy for my DM interview I have...
What you need to be asking here is "How long is a piece of string". Seriously though, you need to get in touch with the recruitment / HR bods. I have been waiting for over six weeks for the result of my manager interview with FGW and it is killing me!
Good luck!
All,
I'm waiting to hear back from my interview for trainee train driver with FGW, I was told that I would hear within a fortnight either way.
It has now been six weeks and nothing, despite me attempting to contact them.
The recruitment team deal with all roles and just seem to be...
From what I gather your references will not be asked until you have passed everything and started your course, you will be asked for the details in the conditional offer of employment packup.
Dunno what would happen if your reference said you were an unstable nut job with the concentration...
Well that's different. Still waiting to hear from my DM interview with FGW (38 days and counting) and have been invited to stage 1 with LM. I contacted them to tell them that I have been successful in my old style stage 1 & 2 with FGW and they replied back saying that as I have passed GB &...
