I'm away with the wife but my brother just called to say he is on the 21.43 Bradford to Leeds and its only a class 153 and its delayed due to too many people trying to get on it.
Why would Northern even think a 153 is suitable for a journey between two of the biggest cities in the North.
Are...
It's actually Friday morning but because it takes so long to travel we have to leave the day before. National Express are just as bad with a eight hour journey.
What are my other options? Anything via Leeds and down to.Cardiff? My wife is a bit infirm and the thought of spending 3 hours on a 150 when spending a lot of moemy doesn't sound appealing.
Cheers for the advice, so it's looking like the best option is to split at Todmorden and via Manchester?
I never knew it was such a long journey. I know it'll be a 142/150/155/158 to Manchester from Bradford but what will the other trains be?
Can anyone advise and help which is the quickest and cheapest way to do this journey please as my wife's sister has recently died and we need to attend the funeral next Thursday.
But do they have pacers with bus seating in London? I find it highly irritating that these particular trains are still around and hopefully going to the scrapyard later on this year.
Nobody wants to spend nearly two hours crush loaded onto one of these things.
The conductor on the train repeatedly apologised for being lumbered with the train and he agreed when I finally got off that running a two carriage pacer on the core Leeds to Manchester route in the peak was unacceptable.
That guard deserves a medal for what will be one of those shifts from hell.
How Northern rail are allowed to run a two carriage pacer on the Leeds to Manchester Victoria via Bradford route is absolutely disgraceful. The train was late due to passengers crush loading onto it at Leeds and then left passengers behind at New Pudsey and Bradford. Absolutely disgraceful how...
Just left Leeds on a 158(3)+153 so four carriages. Standing only at the ends but room for those getting on at New Pudsey.
Loads of RRB outside in the car park. I hope they have ordered enough for the evening peak.
Are the diesels running to Settle/Lancaster?
Does anyone know what is happening with the Bradford, Leeds and Skipton triangle services?
Currently waiting at Bradford Forster Square and nothing is moving.
