I had reason to be browsing an OS map of Calstock, Cornwall and happened to notice a short stretch of line running along the River Tamar just to the north-west of the village. I am curious to know what this is.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it but Sugar Loaf on the Central wales line would be a pretty bleak place to be stranded on a winter's night after the last train has gone. Surrounded by mountains and a 3 mile walk to civilization at Llanwrtyd, although once there you will find some good pubs.
The Swansea District line with new (parkway) stations serving the very populated areas of North Swansea with as, the most basic service, a Llanelli - Port Talbot service. I know the idea has been mooted over the years but it could surely be viable.
