I don't see the slightest chance that the UK stays in the EU. The only hope of staying in died as soon as it was clear to be a Tory government again. People don't like the EU, and they don't understand what it's about, and so they will vote to leave it.

I saw people on Twitter say that because of the high vote numbers for UKIP they were considering heading to the US. This seems a bit silly - they want to go from a country where maybe 2 elected politicians belong to a racist party to one where 50% do.

For what it's worth, my prediction is for a Tory plurality, and them trying to form a minority government, which would be swiftly no-confidenced out the door. Labour minority I think will be the end result, possibly in coalition with Lib Dems, but short of a majority.

There was a similar incident on LU recently - an out of gauge conductor rail ripped all the shoes off one side of the train, but it wasn't immediately noticed as the train was getting power from the other side. Then the rail switched side and lights out. Bring back Tomorrow's World!

I've just been on holiday in Cornwall for a week, and so did a semi-count of election signs I saw. 1st - Tories & Lib Dems (joint equal on lots) 3rd - UKIP (about 8) 4th - Mebyon Kernow, the Party of Cornwall (6 or so) 5th - Labour (3, though it took six days to see a single one) 6th - Greens...

I counted Cornish political placards over a week. I reckon Tories and Lib Dems roughly equal, UKIP in 3rd, Cornish local party 4th, 3 Labour supporters and one Green. Of note is that the Tory placards were almost always in fields, the Lib Dem ones always in gardens.

As an aside, the author is always receptive of suggestions about how to improve the maps, as well as information regarding any errors. I personally printed out the national rail operators map on 9 sheets of A3 and have them stuck on the wall above my bed.

I think they'll get a decent polling average, but will win at most two seats as their support is too dispersed. It will however help with ditching First Past the Post (FPTP) and moving towards Single Transferrable Vote (STV) or Proportional Representation (PR).

It does sound like a SPAD or similar. On LU at least, if a SPAD occurs the driver continues to the first available relief point, where a relief driver takes over and the driver involved in the incident is interviewed by the duty manager.
