A quick update
"Approximately 40-50 metres of overhead cable has been stolen from the two reserved sections of the tramway.
An overhead specialist has been called in and a cherry picker hired in order for the damage to be thoroughly checked.
The tramway is not expected to reopen anytime soon."
We are very sorry to have to announce that until further notice Heaton Park Tramway is closed due to the theft of overhead wire.
No more information is available at the moment but will be posted when it is.

Stockoport 5 a 1901 built open topper that has spent the last 15 years in Blackpool has now landed at Heaton Park Tramway.

There are the likes of Beamich and Crich with recreated streets but the only street running I can think of are the two previously mentioned.
Unless the horse trams on the Isle of man count, there is still a double decker there.

Heaton Park Tramway will also release more information on the Launch event that will commemorate the opening and closing of the Stockport system along with the trams 110th birthday as more details can be firmed up.

Just to update this thread further the Stockport 5 Tramcar trust have issued a statement from one of their trustees today on the Unofficial Heaton Park Tramway facebook page which reads

Well as Norther Rail says Trans Lancs rally on the 4th September at Heaton Park Manchester.
You also get the added bonus of Vintage trams as well which MAY even be a 3 tram service.
