In TfL land some routes are perhaps quite strange - one particular oddity is the London Overground service 'X' which operates sometimes when trains do not run between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate through the East London Line core section. A mixture of awkward road geography, low bridges...
Cowden was to do with the fact that the road going up to the station was so narrow that generally nothing bigger than a bread van could be used. At the same time, if an oncoming vehicle came in the opposite direction, it would create a very awkward situation! Stopping at the crossroads allows...
Seems like some progress has been made again after ages. There is seemingly signal on the Northern line now between Tooting Bec and South Wimbledon? This joins up with Balham to Kennington which has been live for a while. Interestingly there is no signal Tooting Bec to Balham, however.
As the title suggests, the Central line seems to run in permanent 'minor delays' at the weekends the last few weeks. Minor delays may not sound like the end of the world if it wasn't for the fact it was heavily misleading. TfL also uses the deliberately meaningless phrase 'due to train...
Seems absurd that the 24, 25 and 26 are being subjected to the use of single deckers when they're so busy! Particularly the 24/26 routes which are by London standards 'low frequency' so if a bus leaves someone behind it is a long wait for the next one.
The 18 makes sense and even potentially...
I am sure route 389 (which interworks with also short, and quietest, 399) is the shortest route in London I think. Goes from The Spires down to Western Way up in High Barnet and takes all of about 7 minutes to do a typical trip (I think around 2 miles).
Also worthy for nomination are the E1 and...
Hello all,
At present all Elizabeth line trains at Stratford platform 8 are unable to release the doors in the rear 9th carriage due to a 'problem under investigation'. Is anyone privy (and able to publicly share if possible) to why this is?
A really weird thought popped into my mind and I am quite sure that I am not making this up, but alas I don't have any proof or evidence to prove that it happened.
I remember one weekend and I don't believe it has been repeated since, sometime in the spring or summer of 2017 where there was a...
91001, the first refurbished train, is out this morning on running board 054 at present. I thought these were only limited to the special 141/142 boards?
Transport for London reporting that the Jubilee line has been part suspended London Bridge/Green Park to Stratford for several hours this evening (and at the time of writing at 0133) is still closed on this stretch because of flooding on the line at Canary Wharf?
East London itself hasn't seen...
I have been informed it's apparently Clapham North through to Balham that has gone live this morning. With you receiving Oval I assume that leg in the middle must not be far off.
Tracking is already in place and has been for the last year on Southeastern which is the pilot customer for this system. You can actually see when replacement buses run on Customer Information Screens what time the bus is coming (whether early or late). The system is still a huge work in...
Looks like London Bridge Northern line might go live imminently. Signal is there for calls and texts but 4G/5G data provision is not but I imagine that will change in the next couple of days, I'd hope.
Any updates anywhere else?

By the looks of it, just Clapham South Station but not the tunnels either side. Clapham Common went live earlier in the summer.
None of the other stations down the Morden branch (other than Morden, for obvious reasons) have signal from what I can see as it stands?
I think the new 28 is almost supposed to be two routes merged into one which is effectively a Brighton to Hailsham and Hailsham to Eastbourne route, with people wanting to do Brighton to Eastbourne put on the faster and much more frequent Coaster services.
Obviously you as a Hailsham local...
The network works very well as it does at the moment with not much need for change. It would be lovely to see the Coasters regularly going back to Eastbourne Pier as they did pre pandemic but that's a minor tweak.
The most 'radical' suggestion I hold is converting the 60 (Old Steine -...
10 days to go and I understand a lot has been happening. A new depot is at Newton's Court dedicated to Fastrack services but the routes will begin with ex London Enviro 200s to begin with, a mixture of the old Silvertown 2011 registered batch and some from Sullivan Buses route W9.
