    Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

Yes it is incredibly annoying and disrespectful. Billions have been invested into these trains and the overall programme. You are gifted with brand new trains and can't be bothered to keep your feet on the floor. Then the same people complain their trains and seats are dirty later on. You...

    Thameslink/ Class 700 Progress

Yes I absolutely love having the rear 1st class to myself and don't want this secret spilled out. I was on a Three Bridges train the other week and I arrived at East Croydon where it was lovely and quiet in first class. Then a huge loud family got on in first class only for the dad to realise...

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

Due to a high volume of refund applications from constant delays and poor service, it is taking much longer to process. I imagine this week people that travel through and from Wimbledon will be making that queue even longer.

    TRIVIA: Longest notionally free journey

London Liverpool Street to Rayleigh on a season ticket is the same price as London Liverpool Street to Hockley, Rochford, Southend Airport, Prittlewell and Southend Victoria. That's why customers who buy tickets from Hockley, Rayleigh and Rochford are told to actually buy one all the way to...

I would probably bet next timetable change right now in May.

    Virgin East Coast Twitter

^BG I think you're a legend. Your post was actually eye-opening. Well done for adding a human touch to your tweets, which in turn saved a life and possibly many more. Well done for being brave enough to openly come out and relate to the general population that [has suffered or] suffers from...

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

This was always in the works to become a more regular service in the long term during times of disruption and service restrictions into London (i.e. engineering works), and was first started during the Waterloo blockade under SWT when the Exeter trains generally would run into Reading. It's been...

Row over female-only compartments being used by transgender people on Caledonian sleeper service

Caledonian Sleeper won't be able to settle this and make everyone happy.

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

They sound like the SWR 455s, I quite like them but they don't accelerate any faster or slower than the normal 321s. The doors could've been re-done to match those on the 315s or something that don't rattle every time a train passes by at speed. It's quite annoying when that happens.

    "Delicious" announcement

I've noticed c2c today announced to passengers to 'change at Southend Central for Adventure Island, Southend Pier and the Sea Front' or something like that - first time I've heard it whilst travelling on c2c, don't know if it is a new thing or if it's just never played when I catch one of their...

    315 documents

You may want to see the 'Class 315 Withdrawals' thread under the 'Traction & Rolling Stock' thread where this is being discussed with the details you need. Unfortunately I am struggling to actually link it properly in this post.

My Idea for: 313s to Southeastern?

It would be miles better than the garbage Southeastern uses at the moment so more than happy to see it happen.

Virgin Trains East Coast franchise to end 24 June 2018 and is temporarily re-nationalised

LNR or LNWR is London Northwestern Railway, the operator of the West Midlands franchise. They started in December 2017 having replaced London Midland. They operate the class 350 stopping trains up and down the WCML and also to Birmingham. It is that 'green' train.

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

The Waterloo temps although they were agency staff were absolutely useless and just huddled around in groups talking to each other as if they were in a club. There's some nice staff at the main SWR arm of the company though.

    GTR 365 to storage

From the table linked earlier I've decided to make a separate timetable showing solely all 365 runs northbound atm, I'll try get round to the southbounds shortly. Indeed they only run as far as Peterborough and Royston (or Baldock / Letchworth Garden City), calling at selected stops only so even...
