Hi all.
I've got a Super Off-Peak Return, with 16-25 Railcard discount, from Bath Spa (BTH) to Leicester (LEI) via London. I've taken a break of journey in London and it is my understanding that the ticket remains valid for the unused portion, London to Leicester, so long as I travel within...
I can tell you there are some stretches of 125 mph running south of Leicester, and that its closer to 100/110 in the environs of Loughborough station.
Can't be any more specific, though, I'm afraid!
I take your point but I've got to add that some TOCs (looking at EMT in particular) do seem to like directing passengers to Twitter in times of confusion.
During disruption a few weeks ago (signal issues in the Loughborough area) I had to seek 'permission' from EMT's 'customer service'...
Hi all.
I often travel between LEI and STP and, now I'm a student again, enjoy the bargain 'Advance' fares when I can. As we all know, each ticket is valid only on specific services (or in this instance, a particular train) and when booking, a reservation is issued.

University definitely did about 5 weeks ago when I was on campus for a day's training.
Worth noting that the queue to the ticket office was about 100-long at about 5 pm on a weekday, with the barriers open.
Going by the crowds on the Birmingham-bound platform that would appear in the few...

Can anyone confirm what speed they were likely to have been...
Similar situation with me. I recently went for a scientific analyst post and wore a shirt, tie and trousers but no suit and got the job despite immense competition. When I asked my employer what sort of clobber I should wear in the role, he told me shirt and jeans are fine and "...had you turned...
I remember a particularly delayed journey a few months ago - in fact, thinking about it, this was November 2008. I was trying to get from Penzance to Bangor.
The first train, one of First Great Western's huge HSTs, left Penzance at around 8am (I think) and was routed via Pinhoe/Crewkerne and...
Hi all.
I have a couple of questions regarding the validity of an advance single, travelling tomorrow (Friday) morning.
The ticket was bought three weeks ago covering a journey from Penzance to Bangor (Gwynedd) and was booked with a 16-25 railcard discount. It was bought by a friend...
