Absolutely not. It indicates that the web connection is encrypted but says nothing about the trustworthiness of the site itself - it could be a copycat or typo-squatter site
I am also a customer of Three, I got a similar communication a couple of weeks ago while abroad on holday and felt very disinclined to follow any of the links provided given that I was using Wifi** at the place I was staying. So I ignored it for a couple of weeks.
On arriving back home the...
Some banks (notably the Co-operative Bank) have always been up front about their ethical stance but what I find slightly troubling in the SumUp example upthread is it seems to be a case of 'moving the goalposts' and citing regulatory requirements as the justification when it seems more of an...
Yes, this is still possible. It says you can do this online or at a Post Office, but needs to be done before you drive the car as any tax paid by the previous owner no longer carries across to the new purchaser.
You are quite correct. The VED is backdated to the start of the month of purchase. But to bring it back to the OP's question, the transaction can be completed online while at the dealer's premises and in my case they provided the confirmatory printout in case of any problems en route back home
Agree with all the above. I arrived at a dealer midweek last week, test drove the models I'd shortlisted based on previous research, and once all the administrative formalities were completed online was on my way back home with the new motor a couple of hours later! So to answer the OP, yes it...
I've just checked the MOT history and in fact it was renewed by the dealer a few weeks before my purchase. The test drive was done on trade plates but having looked online this doesn't give cover if the MOT isn't current.
For a used car, yes, and indeed I have done so just this week. The dealer handled the DVLA transfer online, you also pay for the vehicle excise duty online and if you don't have insurance in place you can buy temporary 'drive away' insurance which in my case cost £27 and gave 3 days' cover
live.com is an evolution of the free Hotmail service provided by Microsoft and is now known as outlook.com - so not in any way a corporate email address
I was listening to a cyber security podcast today where the strong advice from a retired law enforcement officer was to resist temptation and...
To add my two'pennorth worth I have travelled up by train on business from London to Glasgow and back in a single day for an essential client site visit. Got a taxi from home to Euston, then first direct train of the day and after boarding slept until Preston when it started to get light then...
The original A282 Dartford crossing (tunnel) predates the M25 by a number of years and is deliberately classified as a trunk road rather than a motorway so that (some) otherwise prohibited local traffic is permitted to use it. Travelling clockwise the crossing feels like a motorway throughout...
I didn't realise until a family member recently started driving lessons, but since 2018 learner drivers have been allowed to use motorways (in an approved driving instructor's car equipped with dual controls)

Doesn't have to be full ID though. In this sort of situation, what needs to be confirmed is called an "attribute" - are you above/below the age boundary which determines eligibility for a service or entitlement? It doesn't require the questioning party to know the individual's full ID details...
Whilst perhaps tangential to the main question, I think it is noteworthy that such standardisation was prompted by the advent of the railways!
FWIW I would prefer extra daylight at the end rather than the beginning of the day
Half hour offsets are rare and believe it or not there are a couple of places with 45 minute offsets! But very much in a minority

With elderly parents living over 200 miles away, for peace of mind I now keep enough in the tank to be able to complete the journey without needing to stop en route, just in case. The fuel crisis was a bit of a wake-up call coinciding with my dad having an emergency admission to hospital. In...
I expect you will be required to log in to the app again and as part of the process taken to a screen where you need to enter the 2FA code.
I agree that 2FA is more secure than reliance on simple user ID/password combination alone but there should be a wider range of options for the 2nd factor...
