My understanding is that each of the 3 tph EUS-NMP-BHM will be extended beyond New Street. One will be to Liverpool, not via Stoke, another will be to Crewe via Stoke and the other to Rugeley via Walsall. There will also be the hourly Trent Valley service to Crewe, but not via Stoke.

Wrong. MK local authority area is bigger than Liverpool City, 119km2 to 111km2.

Here is a copy of my submission to DfT. It addresses some of the problems raised in this thread, although, of course, it was written many weeks ago. I have circulated it to several people in the industry and campaign groups who have generally welcomed the ideas.

I remember having discussions with DfT around 2000. They didn't want to pay for EWRL but if someone else would build it they were keen to run XC Ston-Mcr via MKC in order to avoid congestion in New St area and associated delays.

Must have been recorded at Paddington. During the making of Crime of the Century album Supertramp lived in a house near Wantage. They presumably commuted from Didcot to the studio in London. Some friends of mine moved in to the house after Supertramp left. Interesting plants found in the greenhouse!
