On TPE service on final part of journey from Huddersfield to Glasgow return first classp. No delays, all connections met, great friendly service from Avanti and TPE, generous food and drinks.
This is how rail retains and gets new customers....well done to all involved.
It's not particularly obvious why head up display of route in the cab (perhaps based on satnav technology), with appropriate extensions to cater for weather conditions etc wouldn't help to minimise route learning time.
I can see the obvious advantages of tactile paving near platform edges to warn blind passengers of their whereabouts and potential inadvertent danger when no train is present. However, if said blind passenger goes to a station not so equipped, how are they made aware that there is no tactile paving?

Massive portakabin structure (with apologies to Legoland) has appeared at Huddersfield station in front of goods warehouse. I assume it's messing, accomodation, offices etc.

Huddersfield station today. Lots of scaffolding now in place where the section of roof at east end of station had already been removed. I am sure someone will be able to explain why.
