It's not particularly obvious why head up display of route in the cab (perhaps based on satnav technology), with appropriate extensions to cater for weather conditions etc wouldn't help to minimise route learning time.

I can see the obvious advantages of tactile paving near platform edges to warn blind passengers of their whereabouts and potential inadvertent danger when no train is present. However, if said blind passenger goes to a station not so equipped, how are they made aware that there is no tactile paving?

Here we have pictures showing concrete pilings at ground level. Are these foundations for enhanced bridge abutments?

A quick glance from passing Huddersfield Bradford road bridge appeared to confirm concrete footings for north side bridge section are formed. Hopefully not much longer before new north side bridge is put in place. I haven't spotted the new bridge section anywhere though. Any clues as to when the...

Massive portakabin structure (with apologies to Legoland) has appeared at Huddersfield station in front of goods warehouse. I assume it's messing, accomodation, offices etc. Surprised they couldn't use the old goods warehouse?

Suggesting a rail connection often helps get a planning application approved. No guarantees the rail connection will ever get used though.

Pictures from either side of Colne bridge today. There looks to be insufficient space to put two more tracks where the electricity substation is? Is it being demolished or are all tracks being slewed to the left towards mamas and papas?

Yes, apologies, I was photographing from west end bridge looking towards east, but of course that was west end of station!! Really must do some more work on vectors!!

Huddersfield station today. Lots of scaffolding now in place where the section of roof at east end of station had already been removed. I am sure someone will be able to explain why. Apologies for poor quality of images.
