Colne. Rendered a terminus by closure of the line onto Skipton, it feels very much as described. I'm sure there will be other such termini created in similar fashion.

An earlier plan involved continuing south from Charlemont along the Luas Green line, although I understand this was shelved following some protest. I'd be keen to see it push on instead in the direction of Harold's Cross and Kimmage, both unserved by rail, as terminating so close to the city...
The latter still trades off its New Town identity, although various local politicians have flirted over the years with making a bid. When I was head of policy at the council I advised the then leader against doing so in the 2022 round - we had far more pressing matters to contend with.
