    Service changes affecting your service

In terms of "generosity", people may well be booking multiple journeys with different retailers (or indeed, different modes of travel) and that 1 minute change could be enough to foul a minimum connection time from another service, or another vehicle.

    Service changes affecting your service

The spec says: I don't think it's that new, nowadays.

    PlusBus Tickets

Conversely, if the scanning worked in practice, the E-Ticket format had great potential to eliminate some of the "okay but it's not actually a rail ticket" conversations that have been inevitable with the product throughout its life, by just giving the driver a successful beep to go from.

    PlusBus Tickets

Disappointing but not entirely surprising. I don't think the eTVD (if there actually is one) is at fault here; it's the firmware running on the on-bus machines that can't decode the Aztecs. I believe they all need software updates and local configuration to be able to work.

False advertising EMR first class on Trainline?

They do, as per section 9 of the TPIL: I make no representation as to whether Trainline's feature here represents a breach of these conditions or not, but the key here is that operators do have relevant conditions in the license agreement - it is not quite the "wild west" PupCuff alluded it...

    DfT travel survey on TPE

I would bet a reasonable sum that this sort of reasoning likely doesn't get recorded properly, and then ends up getting recorded or interpreted as "probably ticketless" on the basis of the refusal.

Grand Central apply for Newcastle - Brighton direct

If you're going through it anyway, surely a call at Leamington would be in order.

RMT order members not to load railcard discounts?

"Technically possibly could", and committed to doing by bidding for Oval, you mean? I'm happy to evaluate technical arguments as to why it's not as simple as I've described. Indeed, I can think of a few limitations with what I've proposed (mostly around obscure Railcards), but it'd be a start...

False advertising EMR first class on Trainline?

For clarity, I definitely wasn't blaming EMR, it was directed towards Trainline! (I am acutely aware of some of the pitfalls involved with advertising facilities available to passengers, it's very easy to screw up)

False advertising EMR first class on Trainline?

You have got to be really careful implementing upsells like this to make sure that the offering is correct; they can and will form part of the pre-sale information that the customer uses to make their purchasing decision.

Cheapest possible fare - to activate a Railcard

Does it care what you buy? Child's single from LIC to LTV (as above) would be my usual go-to. Of course, you shouldn't have to buy anything at all to activate a Railcard..

GTR are threatening to take me to court unless I pay a penalty fare, but I'm certain I'm within the rules as a disabled passenger?

It doesn't matter how willing you are if you can't get signal. No member of the public is going to have the ability to issue a ticket offline.

RMT order members not to load railcard discounts?

Given that: I believe TfL are given privileged access to be able to retrieve back either the FPAN of a payment card (or a customer-specific Payment Account Reference) when contactless payments are made (If they weren't, the Contactless travel history portal wouldn't be able to display travel...

GTR are threatening to take me to court unless I pay a penalty fare, but I'm certain I'm within the rules as a disabled passenger?

100%. And from knowing folks with OCD, it's almost always the case that they know it's entirely irrational, and it can be quite exhausting trying to repeatedly explain why things - which, to you and I - don't obviously make sense / can "obviously" be worked around, can and do trigger such...

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

Customer services have a shiny button that'll do this now in one step, for what it's worth (without requiring the customer to pay again), so if it happens again and there's enough time before departure, it can be arranged.

    Marlow to Cambridge

I had a brief look at this, but I'm sorry to say it's not really my neck of the woods which doesn't help with getting a mental model of it all. No Thameslink core up in Warwickshire :) @MrJeeves / @OscarH may have a better idea given they actually use this TOC; but it is a BH weekend and nobody...

Storage is cheap. And someone spent a very long time trying to ensure that Raileasy's E-Tickets don't take up that much space :p

They don't expire currently. We wouldn't make them expire before the end of the ticket's validity date (+ time for Delay Repay) in any case, even if we did start expiring them.
