    Edinburgh Tram developments

With buses now showing only destination and route number, I thought tramboards had been consigned to history. It's good to see them back!

I didn't realise that any of the trams had faulty destination screens. Would that be the reason that they have tram-slipboards at each end?

Dpes anyone know if Lothian will be holding 'Doors Open' this year?

Like buses that used to go to a very obscure place called 'Service' or the old Edinburgh favourite 'Circle'!

The trams are screened Newhaven and do run through to there, but passengers are not carried past St Andrew Sq. Public, revenue service to Newhaven starts on 7. June at 1200hrs, so expect some full trams for the first few hours as folk try them for the novelty.

Now that North Bridge is open both ways, does anyone know if Lothian are going to issue timetablles and maps again?

    Memorable bus/coach journeys

About 6years ago, I saw a route 804 advertised from Inverness to Durness operated by D&E, so decided I'd try it when I was in that area. It went via Strathpeffer, Ullapool, Lochinver. Scourie and Inverbervie, a total of 174miles with about 20miles of single track road with passing places and...

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Great news! Hope to be back in Auld Reekie soon to get my tram-fix down The Walk to Newhaven! There's a good 6 minute video on YouTube of trams on the new extension with route learning and driver testing. posted on 19. April 2023. As a thought, does anyone know the tram PVR for the new extension?

Thanks for that! As I only get back to Auld Reekie occassionaly, I had never seen anyone pay with notes. At least, I'l be prepared and can tell (English) friends and relatives how to pay.

Can folk buying a £5 Dayticket pay with a £5 note or have to use coins (2x£2+£1)?

In roller blind days, was the 100 not screened 'Express' or 'Limited Stop'? That would have told folk waiting that it was not 'all stops'. Now with only the destination shown, this info is not available.

Many thanks. Could make a better impression on visitors with a smoother ride as well!

Having just watched a video of route 100 from the Airport to City Centre, I wondered why it doesn't use bus lanes when they are empty of local buses?

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Does anyone think that if the last tram from Newhaven went part-route to Haymarket and stopped overnight at Haymarket siding, it would be secure?

    Edinburgh Tram developments

That's great news! Leithers should be relieved that most, if not all, the rpad works should be cleared up and life gets back to normal for them. Is there any word as to how many weeks tram testing will be before revenue service begins?

IIRC, someone mentioned that when trams start operating to Newhaven, some would be left at Newhaven overnight to take up service first thing next day. If this is right, will there be any security as I think they could become a target for vandals.

This reply makes me wonder if Bluestar could try to take Xelabus over?
