I had an interview for qualified heavy haul but I'm in contact with a few that are trying to get on via this scheme.
It's all been a comfortable and nice experience and not as drawn out as passenger TOCs
Had a call out of the blue from the HR team asking if I would like to apply for Manchester Victoria.
Wondered if any current drivers could advise me on traction, routes and generally what the depot is like to work at.

Yook, the course's are designed to give you everything you need so don't worry about and revision before hand. Put in the time and hard work and you will come out the other end with ease
As has been said you have to sit your probation before you can apply. It's can take a couple of yeas before you get a start date if you were to be successful.
For reference I applied December 2002 and didn't get a start date until June 2006 despite having 13 depots to go to.
