I went through the same scenario, had to ‘tighten my belt’ for a bit and dig into the OT I’d done before leaving. Fast forward a few years and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Think of it as a temporary backward step for a huge leap forward.

Sure I remember reading that Avanti want to increase services from Liverpool, which will include shorter 7 car Hitachi sets which will stop at places like South Parkway. Hence more drivers at depots.

Possibly, you’d still have to do the initial stages of the application process. Then when you reach the OPC stages they would let you know if you have passed everything to the required standard or whether you would need to re-sit any tests.
