Merseyrail announced on Twitter earlier they're going back to the pre-Covid 15 minute timetable from 2nd May. I believe the Ormskirk and Kirkby lines had been interworked on the 20 minute timetable - I think that'll stop now?

Would it be too simplistic/controversial to suggest that reduced guard function/responsibility allows for a lower guard salary? I think I read the funds for the 777s were granted based on switching to driver-only operation and therefore with no guard salaries? If that's not the case then my...

Wiki suggests the 777s are 65m vs the 61m of the 507/508s, and using the "Measure" tool on Google Maps suggests the siding is 180m so it seems very close to squeeze 3x 507/508s in there, but certainly 2x 777 would fit.

Not the poster you quoted, but I have my car's speedo set to km, sat navs in km, measure fuel consumption (not economy) in L/100km etc. Just need to know the conversions in your head.

Interesting point is that on our roads, the "mile posts" are actually at 500m intervals, so measure the road distance in km, and the 3/2/1 countdown to junctions are placed at 300/200/100m respectively, though it is taught they're at 300/200/100 yards. My bold, but bottled beer has to be sold...
