(From 444/450 world)
Signage should be improved- specifically there should be notices on the vestibule doors of the QC so that passengers walking through the train are aware.
I'd like to hear an occasional recorded announcement in the QC only... Soothing voice cooing "this is the Quiet...
I remember meeting him on my only visit there... I squatted down to stroke him and he unexpectedly climbed onto my knees.
There are a couple of very friendly cats that frequent Sway Station, getting to sit on the staff side of the ticket office window
I saw a man carrying a kitchen sink on the Prague metro yesterday (seriously, it was a new one from a DiY store obviously)... If only I'd taken a photo it could have provided endless pointless filler for our newspapers... Those mad Czechs eh?.. Actually carrying things, on the train... Crazy!
I've always found it slightly vexing that the xx:05 weekday stoppers eastbound from Bournemouth are almost always 444s, except for the busiest time, the 18.05, which is always a crowded 450...
Maybe a better bet than the Somerset and Dorset would be the Salisbury and Dorset Junction Railway?
This would link Poole to Wimborne and then on directly to Salisbury (and thence Bath and Bristol). It's much shorter than the S&D and yet would give similar benefits in speeding up...

Why don't they just change or choose...
Perhaps they are thinking they have a year's validity, and thus they'll give up accepting any of them a year after SWT send out the last few.
Of course, we don't know for sure that they'll not be issuing their own versions when they take over, do we?
Just a bit of 'blue sky' thinking here, but it's always seemed odd to me that on an electrified line, the only fast service between Southampton and Portsmouth is a grotty and often crowded three-car DMU.
Wouldn't it be an idea to truncate the Cardiff-Portsmouth service to Cardiff-Southampton...
Well I suspect that as it was a free "perk" they can do what they like. They can probably remove the first class upgrade perks and the £1 "Partner" NSE Card too if they feel like it (is that still available on the Ryde season by the way?).
Let's make a guess at the value of those six day...
Just turning the question on its head slightly, I have a quite a few leftover "free" tickets from several years of Gold Card ownership.
I no longer have a Gold Card - but if I were to buy the famous Isle of Wight Ryde Gold Card, is there any reason why I shouldn't use it together with my...
