UK Railtours Barmouth Bridge Express, Jan 8th

"It's like buying a U2 CD and opening the case to find a Coldplay disc. It's good, but not what I paid for" Someone summed it up for me, to which I agree.

    Living Within An Hour

Depends on the company I suppose. I do know someone who applied for a job in London (living near me, S. Wales), stated he would relocate and got an interview.

Is posting on Internet Forums taking over your life?

Why do you have to cut down? If you have the time to be on here, then what's the problem? I come on here and other forums when I have the time too. No time, don't come on here. It only becomes a problem IMO, when you flag going out doing the things you enjoy to sit on here....

    Rail Blue Charters

Are you sure you're on about Duff bashers here and not Peak bashers? Staying in the closet and all that....

I do bloody hope not, I have paid for 67s (as have about 14 others I know...). Yes, I know tours aren't run for cranks.

Is there likely to be a Valenta HST farewell tour?

No, you were wrong. As I said. my full post was "In answer to your question..". Not "in answer to your wibble below the question."

Is there likely to be a Valenta HST farewell tour?

Yea, that's it. Using non approved parts, not bothering with maintenance, being incompetent. Many people don't know what went I on (I dont claim to know everything, far from it but the basics I know prove you otherwise). An engine WON'T be reliable, if you don't maintain it. Towards the end...

Is there likely to be a Valenta HST farewell tour?

Enough :) It's in to double figures and they have have salvaged others for useful parts too.

Is there likely to be a Valenta HST farewell tour?

Bugger that. NRM already have a Valenta and it is/was outside under a very small tarp that doesn't cover it from the elements. Disgraceful.

    VP185's or MTU's?

Turbo scream down to size as well as speed. Valenta has one mahoooosive turbo VP has 6 MTU has 4 Have a read up on this: http://www.paxmanhistory.org.uk/paxeng34.htm#vp185 The rest of the site is also a damn good read too!

    VP185's or MTU's?

They're quite similar with regards to life span: Around 12500 for half-life (QL3 in MTU speak) and 25000 for full life (QL4 in MTU world). The difference is in how they are worked out. I think VPs are done on TOPS hours, but MTUs on MDEC hours. MDEC hours are clocked up even if idling on...
