Scot gov to finally take away under 22 passes for bad behaviour..

No, if I was a bus driver, I'd allow travel on a last service regardless of the issue, be it an invalid pass or a few pence short of the fare due, even if I had to explain myself later.

Stagecoach East Midlands - Timetables, Services, & Wider Operations

Speaking of the 350, since 26255 is now seen in regular use on that route, since that has an in-built audio visual announcement feature, does anyone have any idea when that'll be configured for the 350?

Did you get refused travel as a result of the barcode denied message?

I love that, it looks eye catching for all the right reasons.

Stagecoach East Midlands - Timetables, Services, & Wider Operations

I saw it earlier today and momentarily thought it was a loaned bus from another area until I saw the registration.

Stagecoach East Midlands - Timetables, Services, & Wider Operations

I don't know, but I've noticed that although most drivers won't care if you take the ticket or not, as long as the pass has scanned correctly, you'll get the occasional driver who will absolutely refuse to leave the stop until the ticket is taken, even if the bus is already running very late...

    Stagecoach Group (Group-wide matters)

Maybe not any cancellations, but I could see the 250 and the 350 routes to Hull getting majorly diverted or curtailed if the storm causes a closure on the Humber Bridge.

Bus driver dies after incident at Elgin bus station

I'm not trying to be funny here, but if I was one of those drivers, I'd resign on the spot before I'd let him on any bus of mine. If he then had the audacity to spout out a sob story about how his life is ruined by being denied bus travel, I'm a changed person I'll be better from now on etc etc...

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Any idea as to why East Yorkshire are dropping out of operating the 350? I've asked several drivers and they haven't a clue, they just know about the change.

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

It's good that the Hull depot is finally getting new stock for a change, even if it's only two buses rather than cast offs from other Go Ahead group areas.

SUR Bus trip from Coatzacoalcos to Salina Cruz in Mexico

Hope you enjoyed your excursion as much as possible. :D Also, looking at the pictures, one of the buses stripes look a little like the 90s Stagecoach livery. 8-)

When you say new buses, do you mean some of the 73 plate ones they got late last year or the 19 plate ones?

    Ticket offices offering split tickets

Last August when I was staying in Reading, I wanted to travel to Bristol, but the self service machine at the station only offered a very expensive period return and I was prepared to be told by the ticket office staff that was all that was available, take it or leave it. However, the guy who...

Over 66 pass applied for - query about validity

It's also worth noting that if your local council allows pre-9:30 travel using your pass, you can travel on a service that starts in your council area and crosses the border into a different council area before 9:30, but once over the border, you can't use your pass again until 9:30.

    Memories of your fastest buses

The Optare Solos felt like a real road rocket, yet didn't feel uncomfortable when run at high speed, even when the road surface was of poor quality.

What was your favourite bus type as a kid?

The Optare Metroriders and later the Solos Lincolnshire RoadCar had. The Solos seemed to take particularly well to when the driver put their foot down when running late. Other buses like Dennis Darts felt rather uncomfortable in comparison when run at top speed. It really felt like the end of...

Software for audio/visual announcements on buses

With the Hanover Central software you mentioned, do you need a licence for every bus you intend to set up audio visual announcements on? It's just in Hull, Stagecoach have recently introduced some new 73 registered MMCs to the fleet and some of them have the audio visual announcements enabled...

    Cold buses

No, but he tried dragging me out my seat and demanded I get off the bus. I didn't attempt to fight back, but remained firmly seated. The driver wasn't best pleased with him and several of the passengers were saying how about you get off instead and he remained quiet for the rest of the journey...
