    Amusing/Unusual items taken on buses/coaches

I've purchased trees and shrubs from B&Q and transported them by bus.

Eurostar orders new double-deck train fleet

A while ago, I asked on another thread about the possibility of double deck stock on HS1 domestic services and was told it should be possible except for the problem that many of the services deviate onto the older lines.

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Do you think on that basis, if he hadn't sold the company when he did, instead of the new E400 MMCs in 2019 and in 2020 for the York routes, it would have been more evosetis instead?

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

I've also noticed that when they use a bus with the audio visuals enabled on the 350 to Scunthorpe, it just shows the scrolling welcome aboard message, I'd have thought they'd have it programmed for that route by now, Grimsby have their equipped buses programmed for their equivalent, the 250.

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Just out of interest, what type of display did the sapphire buses have?

Trivia: Special work site bus routes?

The 7M provides a pretty decent link between Bransholme, Boothferry Estate and Hessle as a public service.

Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

In Hull, it's a very mixed bag. With Stagecoach, on the older ones with retrofitted audio visuals, all they currently do is show the date and time and instruct you to remain seated until the bus stops if you press the buzzer, however the 19-plate and 73-plate E400MMCs have both the audio and...

The 73 plate MMCs could maybe then be shifted to somewhere like Lincoln, Grimsby or Hull. I'm aware that Hull already has some 73 plate ones, but if Hull got the Mansfield ones, perhaps they could be used to replace the 66 plate ones which could then be shifted to places like Scunthorpe?

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this, but I've noticed when travelling on the X46 from York back to Hull a glitch with the audio visual announcements, it'll play out the audio for each stop just fine, but the screen will be stuck on one stop for several stops, for example it'll stick at the...

That's interesting, as I've noticed Woodcock Street has bus stop flags, but it doesn't appear any services have served it for quite some time.

Plus the 'nearly new' 73/23 reg MMC deckers used on the 100 route between Lincoln and Scunthorpe via Gainsborough.

The 350 extension to Tesco will be very interesting indeed in terms of what times of the day or night it'll be and will it be only specific days of the week.

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Something I've been thinking about just now, (I know it might have been answered already somewhere in this discussion, but I couldn't find anything) but what's so special about the route 58 to Hessle from Hull that it necessitates route number branded vehicles?

Stagecoach East Midlands - Timetables, Services, & Wider Operations

I wonder if their newest buses that have the next stop announcement systems built in can be programmed with the please remain seated instruction when the buzzer is pressed?

I've found the ride quality to be decent when I've travelled on one being used on route 45 to Castle Hill hospital.

So, could this mean other places in Lincolnshire which are known for a lack of Sunday and bank holiday bus services such as Gainsborough or Kirton In Lindsey will eventually have such services introduced?

I've tried searching for any information, but nothing came up on this, but do you know if the 250/51 enhancements are BSIP funded?
