Gangways - compulsory for all rolling stock?

380's (and 334's) have cameras on each coach for the driver to view passengers on DOO services when the doors are released by the driver if that is what you mean.

They already have LED tail lights.

How do you get heaters turned off?

There are some nasty voltages in the cupboards, TOC's don't really want untrained staff to go in and fiddle around with things. On the 380's there is a feature on the HMI to adjust the ambient saloon temperature. It has an adjustment of around 6 degrees (+3 or -3). 334's have a...

    British Rail Class 323 question

Popping or ticking noise if its coming from the coach with the compressor will probably be the water drain (spirax on some units) valve on the main reservoir.

    British Rail Class 323 question

    PEP Class idea

Yes, but, there will be a 6 car unit sat in a maintenance depot instead of a 3 car that has been rescued with the other set going back into service.

    PEP Class idea

I personally don't think it would happen. There are other factors to consider like the tightlock coupler/electrical head maintenance, the unit would have to split. If it was connected permanently then new semi-permanent couplers would have to be fitted and train wires would have to be joined...

The C6 started a while ago. Most of the heavy maintenance has been done, its the interior fixtures and fittings/exterior that will be done in Kilmarnock.

GSM-R is far superior to NRN and CSR.

    Bletchley Derailment

So because a driver has moaned and said you can't blame the driver it's okay to shift the blame onto maintenance staff? Perhaps you could concentrate on something else other than aimless finger-pointing and wait for the professionals to determine the actual cause.

    Pendolino 390055 To Enter Service

Are the extra cars not being put in when they get a C4/6 overhaul?

    Pendolino 390055 To Enter Service

Taking two cars out is completely bafing tome. The two cars will now be ut of sync with the rest of the unit maintenance wise!

    Extra pickup shoes on 377401

If it was on each of the lead vehicles 4 sets of equipment would be required for each unit (2 each side) whereas only 2 sets in a middle coach. Not to mention the leading bogies are already crammed with shoe equipment.

    Gsm-r

Gsm-r is live in Scotland and has been for some time. The radio itself is not isolated at present as it is tested during exams. All staff have been briefed on the red button and some don't like pressing it even as part of the red button test.

For those that say the Sea Wall can't be wired

That picture looks as though the water is nearer the photographer than the 380.

Four central Glasgow stations to be gated

I never had to go through the manual gate when travelling through Queen st with my zonecard. Why would they change this now? It seems a little silly.
