What do people make of this : TRAIN DRIVER COURSE – 1-DAY RECRUITMENT

I think the general consensus is don't bother, all the information you need and more is right here on these forums. The books on the other hand have been found useful by many.

MTR Crossrail - Now recruiting for Trainee & Qualified Drivers

It's all on the 2nd day, but you sit the computer tests first. You will only do the MMI if you pass the tests, if not you will be sent home.

Multi Modal Interview Assessment Day 2

Just a couple of questions: Are there ever any TOC related questions asked in the MMI, or is to purely competency based? i.e any knowledge need about routes etc...or is that all in the DMI? Also do they start off with "tell us about yourself" or any of that stuff that you'd expect in a...

For those successful on assessment day 2, how long did you have to wait for your DM interview?

MTR Cross Rail Successful Driver applicants Sharing info

When next year exactly? Seems like a long time, pointless to be recruiting so early if that is the case.... quite an unusual roster pattern.

Multi Modal Interview Assessment Day 2

Ok thanks for the info. So the interview is based on these 6 questions only, or can they throw you a curve ball and ask for an example of something on the spot that you did not write down before?

Multi Modal Interview Assessment Day 2

Just wondering with regards to the MMI, is the number of question they ask in the interview fixed? As in they have 5 or 6 written down, and they just ask around those questions....Also are the questions listed in the OP still fairly accurate?

    Group Bourdon Tool

2 minutes per page yes, it's a simple task don't fret over it too much, it's only 10 minutes of the entire day, take your time and be accurate and you'll pass.

    Group Bourdon Tool

I was just wondering, in the real paper test, are the groups of dots separated by by lines (ie in their own individual box) or are they all just on a plain sheet of paper with no separation?

South west Trains Full time depot driver (deadline 03/06)

I applied for this, live within walking distance of the depot. Is there much opportunity for depot drivers to move to mainline with SWT? If so, how long would the wait be roughly?

Just got an email inviting me for assessment, so it seems they're finally processing the rest of the applications

Instructor looking for train driving position

Actually that was the point I was making, the paper sift is pretty much luck, one application can get chosen over one equally as good for any number of reasons. No, just because they'd have jumped the hoops before, that's all, I'd find it unlikely once they're through the sift they'd fall at...

Instructor looking for train driving position

And that was the good old days when at least BA paid for the training...They still take cadets off the street, but now you have to front circa 100k for the training via a loan, which you get back via an increased salary, but you're still looking at years until you reach over 50k, and then you...

Instructor looking for train driving position

Speaking from experience here...The aviation industry has changed massively in the last 10-15 years. As it will for a pilot. Nope, pay increase for most. (fully qualified that is) Anybody who leaves voluntarily, will never ever go back with things the way they are. All that aside, it must...

Instructor looking for train driving position

I see where you are coming from but that last point of yours is disproving your own argument if anything. Pilots have the grades and the "common" sense, and any commercial pilot out there will will be able to the job in a safe manner given the level of safety critical training they have gone...
