Thanks for the thread. Very interested in it, I’m visiting Australia in September so it’s giving me some ideas!
Do you know when this year the V trains should go, please?
For what it’s worth my plan is to pack a lot in rather than stay too long in each place - so I’ll have to be selective...
It is done outside depots on LNER, though currently only at Kings Cross (attach and detach) or Doncaster (detach only) on a pre-planned basis (it can also be done at Leeds and Edinburgh, but there’s nothing diagrammed, so it’s ad-hoc only, there)
Both those are actually due to the driver shortages on Friday.
The Aberdeen finishers only got as far as Edinburgh, and so two extra sets went on to Craigentinny. In turn one of the booked Craigentinny arrivals was diverted to finish at Heaton.
As things stand, they’re the only two planned...
The 1306 ex Kings Cross is sitting in York 1530 - 1802.
With two exceptions (0540 SUN - KGX cancelled throughout, and 1523 KGX - MBR starting at DON), all the cancellations today are due to driver shortages, some directly, some as a consequence of them. The other two are due to a couple of unit...
LNER are running some extra services tomorrow throughout the afternoon and evening, plus one extra in the morning - that allows an earlier service from Newcastle southbound, and later services from Edinburgh and Leeds southbound, and also later services northbound from Kings Cross towards...
The initial issue was a loss of power to the overheads. At that point the cause was unknown.
Initial attempts to resurrect them weren’t successful.
A subsequent attempt was successful, which meant services could start to move - it was anticipated this would include the 1202. This would have...
At the risk of becoming too embroiled in this, all I’ll say is:
The current level of service is poor in terms of cancellations pretty much every day - and the effect on customers, in terms of travelling experience, uncertainty of journey, potential effect on the future etc etc shouldn’t be...
The 1833 is booked a 10-car.
LNER were a 9-car short for a Leeds service due to the disruption.
The 10-car on the 1833 was split, to give at least allow both the 1833 and 1903 to run, albeit short formed.
That avoided a gap of 60 minutes, which would have put further pressure on the 1933...
‘800001’ is correct - in terms of cancellations, the only unit fault this morning was 1E09.
The rest this morning were a combination of the issues at Ferme Park, and various crewing issues.
Hello
I have FIP coupons and am planning to undertake a journey on an IC train - Zurich - Basel on 7 November (the train then continues on to Amsterdam).
The following morning, I'm intending doing the journey in reverse.
Would anyone be able to advise if a) FIP coupons are valid on this and...
Personally, I’m ‘old school’ like that, and will talk to anyone if they’re happy to - you never know where the jigsaw pieces you pick up might come in handy in improving something.
In addition, it generally makes others feel valued / supported if someone is prepared to listen / empathise /...
