TRIVIA: Buses that stop to pick up or set down only

I know there are a few around these parts (Cheshire East) that are nominally set-down only from a few stops prior to the terminus (but the terminus is only 50-100 yards or so further up the road). I don't know how rigorously this is enforced.

Cheshire Bus News (was East Cheshire Bus News)

They've barely had a chance to bed it in. I was looking at potentially using it in August. Thought it may be viable from Macclesfield though maybe not further towards the airport compared to the train (one change, either at Stockport, usually crossplatform or Piccadilly (random)). Perhaps the...

Chester - Milton Keynes - London

As both tickets will already be held, why not show both at the gateline at Euston (to make it clear that you're not alighting) - or will that cause more hassle?

Connection time Portsmouth Ferry Terminal to railway station.

Also, bear in mind there may be other events going on in the Channel. I took the ferry back from St Malo in the summer of 2014 - all seemed fine but around the Isle of Wight we were held up by naval manoeuvres (fortunately I wasn't due to leave Portsmouth until the following morning)

    Express motors Caernarfon

Any ideas when Arriva may be taking over (specifically for the 82/83, 85/86 and 88)? Presumably at the spring change or sooner? Been trying to get hold of Express for a while now regarding through tickets from Bangor to Llanrug via Caernarfon (not on a Red Rover).

Bus strikes could hit Merseyside, Greater Manchster and Cheshire

True - but when a return is £3.50 and a 4-weekly £61.50 with little co-validity 5 days off does make things tip one way rather than the other. I checked the page at around 3 on Monday, things were apparently fine but between then and leaving work at 5:30 things kicked off a bit on the 10.

Bus strikes could hit Merseyside, Greater Manchster and Cheshire

Almost making Day tickets worthwhile instead of 4-weekly ones now then (apart from the hassle of sorting change everyday). Is this available anywhere?

A little disappointing - https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/north-west/updates/Changes-to-Macclesfield-Local-Zone-Ticket/ The Crewe equivalent seems to stay, despite a duff link on the tickets pages.

Aberdeen to Bangor (and return to Macclesfield)

Hi all, Advice requested on best fares From Aberdeen to Durham (14th) and on to Bangor (17th) then from Bangor to Macclesfield (19th). Would be looking at leaving all three cities at around 10-11am or so. Hold DIS, and could also have the return half of a Macclesfield - Manchester...

    Wrexham to Llandudno and Conwy

However, Conwy is after the Junction going West (yes I know the journey time is short and there are no barriers). Don't know if this makes any difference?

Bangor to Caernarfon bus add-on fare

Not always, I think the Express Buses are cheaper on a single basis, but more certain that Arriva Buses are more expensive.

Bangor to Caernarfon bus add-on fare

Oh, this is interesting. At one stage the plusbus zone at Bangor extended to Caernarfon I think but no more. I see there are no restrictions listed on BRFares - does this mean that you can use any bus (not just an Arriva one)?
