Thanks for all your replies guys. They're helping me feel better. I have functioned on patchy sleep for a while now with my little un but granted, I haven't had to operate in a safety critical environment. Getting enough sound sleep in between shifts will be key.
gadgetman - how do I get hold...
Thanks for taking the time to reply Pepperami. Your reply has helped a lot. Sorry but I can't go into specifics. I'm sure if my children were as old as yours I would be feeling a lot more positive about things. I wish you all the best with your training and future career. Cheers.
Hello.
I felt I had to come on here and share my feelings about being offered a trainee driver contract. I was hoping to hear from anyone who may have felt the same way before starting a railway career.
To give some background, I've been in the application process a couple of years and...
Hello,
Well done to everyone who's already started training and those about to.
I posted this on the main page but no joy so it may be more appropriate here as some have recently been through the process.
Does anyone know if GTR check references before sending out the contract or afterwards...
Hello all.
Does anyone know if Govia check references before sending out the contract or afterwards?
And, are reference checks done by telephone or email?
Thanks.
Hello.
Long time reader and occasional poster.
Can anyone who has attended both of these be kind enough to share what you're expected to wear please?
Thanks.
Congratulations Polar and all that worrying about the 25 minute interview is now probably a distant memory! Well done to you.
Sadly for me I haven't received an email of any kind so it looks like I've fallen at the final hurdle. I too thought my interview was positive overall. Naturally I'm...
Cheers A-driver. I hate to read a post when you were dashing hopes!
Can you tell me why FCC (at great expense and at three separate venues) would put hundreds of people through 1st stage assessments, then reduce numbers at two further stages, if there wasn't any need or point?
Just seems a...
Cheers Polar and all the best to you too. I don't think time is necessarily a gauge on anything. It might be a case of quality not quantity! It's hard to know exactly what they're looking for, but I'd imagine it's candidates with a strong set of assesment results, who they believe they can train...
Hello Polar, had mine today. Was in there just under an hour. Hard to gauge how it went really. Mixture of good and probably could have done better in some areas with wonderful hindsight. Perhaps that's just me focusing on the not so positive points! Out of interest, did they give you any...
Hello, thanks for reading.
Does anyone know if Trainees are eligible for concessionary car parking at stations when having to catch the train to their training depots?
Thanks.
Thanks LCC106. Yes, busy doing my homework for the next stage but there's only so much you can prepare for as there's bound to be things that are left field.

Thanks. I would say that on the written part there is normally one sub-question per main...
