    Autumn next year.

Potential solutions for earth shifting after dry weather?

Wouldn't they need to have voids for that to work?

    Stockport Platform Zero Closed

There is a combination at the back end of the hour with the Alderley Edge, Norwich and Stoke where you'd need to do some reshuffling without 0.

(Fantasy) A through-running commuter rail tunnel for Birmingham

Wolves New St is 10tph now. New St International is 9tph. New St to Coventry does not need to be 10tph, its 6tph now potentially 7tph once HS2 opens.

    Stockport Platform Zero Closed

It got removed as the cash ran out, not because it was too difficult.

    Stockport Platform Zero Closed

Its not closed. It has several trains booked into it, part of the issue is staffing it.

(Fantasy) A through-running commuter rail tunnel for Birmingham

Decarbonising doesn't need what you are proposing, OLE does that. You haven't answered where the need is, what is lacking, where does the increase in capacity need to be and what is it for? Why does everywhere within 30 minutes need 6tph? A lot of London only just achieves that, Liverpool...

(Fantasy) A through-running commuter rail tunnel for Birmingham

The question you have to answer is "why". What is it you are trying to provide and why? I don't see where the land is to 4 track the Cov corridor, nor out to Kings Norton, nor on the Camp Hill. Cross City will eventually go back to 6tph, how many more does it need to be, why does it need to be...

    Delays at Calais

The tunnel can be just as bad and disorganised in my experience too. Can remember a couple of occasions where I have got to the barrier to check in and my departure time has suddenly moved two hours later on the French side, and neither end has amazing facilities.

Should physical barriers be installed to prevent access to platforms shortly before trains depart?

If we were ever to go down this road, it would have to be the latter. Remember the railway works on half minute increments.

    Marylebone Fire 28th Aug 26

But what is new here? Its been the case since the 60s with the addition of PSBs etc.

    North Filton / Brabazon

You don't have to wait for a timetable change to make alterations. You can add them whenever in the short term plan or put a longer term addition in that runs up to the timetable change if they are not substantial. Its the major recast and structural changes you do in December or May, normally...

(Fantasy) A through-running commuter rail tunnel for Birmingham

Why would it make it more reliable, the nature of long distance services suggests that they get delayed getting to New St, not by it as a location. Landor St to Water Orton is nigh on 4 tracked anyway and as for the others, taking the cross city out of the station isn't actually going to free a...

You just put in a spot bid or STP them in.

There will be a contingency plan but no other signal box can control it, as you probably already knew.

All cross country services suspended 23/08/26

Clearly I am misunderstanding what happened then, surely all the diagrams and rosters for that Sunday were already known? Why would they suddenly need to be rewritten?
  17. T

All cross country services suspended 23/08/26

Why would they be diagramming on the day?

Why should I trust rail travel?

What/who are you replacing them with?
